advice How to contact a potential buyer (Whois doesn't seem to be a viable option)

Hi all, i saw a huge sale about a french domain and wanted to contact the buyer to propose mines, but whois informations were wrong since i got an error message in my mail after trying to get in touch. How do i overcome this? Is there a "magic formula" to contact clients and potential end users?
