How secure is Afternic Premium Fast-Transfer?

Just sticking my toe in the water with Afternic after a few years away from them. I want to concentrate on selling domains (rather than parking) so am looking at listing some domains in their Premium Fast-Transfer track. All domains are at GD, which is part of the requirement. However, I would have to unlock any domains at GD that I want in Afternic Fast-Transfer.

I'm probably OK with doing this for lower value domains but really leery with higher value ones. I always thought leaving domains unlocked was a no-no?

Have any of you got domains in Afternic Premium Fast-Transfer? Are you OK with unlocking your domains in advance at your registrar?

Basically they are saying that if domain is at preferred registrar like GD, and if you unlock it - and put a buy now price, then they will upgrade your account. I think that is an excellent marketing idea. They are asking you do do something which most do not mind (as it is simple thing to do) and it has nothing to do with the domain.

They could have easily said 'put a buy now' price and we will upgrade your account but that would have been too simple. You probably would not have done it. They want to make it little more than than which they know you will do to get upgraded. I personally do not see any value to anyone by unlocking the name - not even to them. Rather it makes the domain 'unsafe'.

So what if you lock your domains back, they are going to downgrade your account? It is just funny to what extent people go for marketing something. What is the next thing they are going to ask, if you give us the authorization code, we will super upgrade your account?

Is there something I'm missing here? because none of my afternic-opt-in domains are unlocked.. nor anyone has ever asked me to unlock them

I have afternic premium listings for over a year now and the domains were -and still are- locked

Thanks for the replies, and I find that I had it half-wrong in the first place. To upgrade to the Premium Fast-Transfer track (which shows your name on multiple other Afternic affiliate websites) you need to opt-in by agreeing (GD sent the email to me) to allow the registrar to unlock the domains on your behalf once they are sold.

This isn't quite as hairy as unlocking them ahead of time, and I'm a lot happier to know this. It isn't clearly explained online, I had to phone Afternic customer service.

Now I'm just waiting for Afternic to figure out how to restore parked page editing which seems to have been down for a few days...

I want to put my domains to Fast-track list. How did you do that? All my domains are registered at Godaddy. I have listed them in the Afternic now for 3 days. Still I did not get any emails to opt-in. Can you please tell me what should i do to opt-in my domains?
