I was curious to know what people thought was considered too much for a ccTLD registation. Say you could pick up some of the top keywords, what would be the max reg fee you'd pay?

.US domains.US domains
depends on the extension and the word.

Personally, anything over 30 is too much in my opinion. Except, of course, for that nast TV habit I have.

Let's take the worst case scenario & say it was the absolute crappiest ccTLD out there.

I would say that it shouldn't be more than an net or org.

But the CC's seem to be a little more popular right now.

VERY hard to say in my opinion.

BANK.com<--------Worth massive moolah
BANK.vc<-------Would you trust it? Would Joe Consumer go to anything bank besides com net or org without a little concern?

for obscure cctlds, only reg names such as casino, sex, poker, net, org, www, nic, co and single letter names
probably the max you should pay is $400...although i sold an obscure cctld with a $1k reg fee :guilty:

I wouldn't pay more than $100, unless I had spare money and the keyword was really good. In fact just a few days ago I paid $98 for a pretty obscure cctld but for some reason it couldn't be regged anyway so I got a refund.

.PR reg fee is $1,000 USD and I'm sure a few people registered domains in that cctld.

I'm willing to pay $100 reg. fee for 2 characters European ccTLDs and for .CC. Less than $50 for non European ccTLDs for 2 characters.

And actually there was a sale of $1.500 of poker.pr here at Namepros.

Buy good keywords (if they are still available), but always bear in mind whether that cctld has any future potential. PN (Pitcairn Islands) with 46 residents is not a huge market as .ph (Philippine) or .pk (Pakistan).
Always think if there is any potential market, if not then only best keywords (casino, poker, sex, travel, co etc).

Let's say top 30 keywords.

But more ccTLDs are usually over $30/year.
