I was searching WHOIS records and found out that a nice dictionary word that is easy to type is available with the .info extension. I'm sorry but I cannot give away the name for obvious reasons.

Could someone please tell me what kind of value such a domain has?

Since it's inexpensive to register .info names and you feel it's worth something you should register it and then everyone can give an idea of the value. Without any information it's impossible to analyze...

Almost all .info names worth more than xx have been registered a long time ago. So I would say it is worth between $0 and $100 to the right buyer.

What is the Overture number?

What is the industry?
What language/s does it work in?

If it is a word, I would suggest checking similar words and their OVT value...

If it just a word... not very common, or has to be put in a partucular context I would suggest it isnt worth the registration fee.

You might also want to base whether you choose to purchase it beased on other registrations.

I almost quarantee that the .com will be taken for it, but look at .net, .biz, .org and .us and see if they are taken. If the domain is surrounded by registered extensions It's probably a good idea to buy them.

If it's a "nice" one-word domain, why are you hesitating at all? It would surely be worth more than eight bucks. Besides, now that people know one is out there, it will be gone soon if it is any good.

I would reg it anyway - 1.99 from www.domainsite.com

Imposible to make a "guestimate" without knowing the name.

Its value would depend on if the name suits the .info extension, what kind of market it is in, how long you are willing to wait for a good sale and how many potential end users may be interested in it.IMO :)

keep in mind that there are some registrars that seem to know and monitor what names have been searched for so it may not be there for much longer.

At 1.99 for the first year its not much to take a chance on, you may want to check out all the .info sales at DNJournal to give you some idea of what similar name may of been sold for.
