Just need a gauge of time, when you invest on a domain, how long will you expect it to give you a return?
How long will you keep the domain?

Depends on the name

Some names I buy to flip asap (could be hours-weeks, aka. the singles)

Others I do not mind holding onto until I strike a deal with an end user (could be weeks-years, aka. the home runs)

Trying to find the perfect balance of short and long term

1 year for crap, many years for stuff I think has great potential. Held a few for around 15 years (to keep for either development or other use) and sold at least 2 of them so many years later via inbound leads.

1 year for my 5-10% worst ones. +20 years for my best ones. And everything between for the rest of the portfolio.
