:hi: everyone, this is my first post here.
Anyways, to my question, how long do you have to wait before you can sell a domain, i have put up a few on sedo, tha will go live on Jan. 17th but I bought them just few days ago. Is this doable?

Thanks guys!

basically depends on the name you're selling but for me from 3 to 6 months since i develop it first.

how about legally, do you hve to wait a specific period, before you can sell your domain?
i read about it that it was some kind of ICANN policy, that you had to wait 60 days before you could sell it.
Is This True?

this is re: domain registrar transfer policy but if you're both seller and buyer on same registrar you can do account change/domain push to him/her even less than 60 days
so it all really depends if someone wants to buy it you can do domain push within a day old the domain is registered.

some registra have the limitation that if some one just push a name to you, then you cannot transfer it to others....

technically only this item need consider while ur buyer ask a registra transfer....but if u ask how long normally a newbie need wait until a sell, I guess it depends, someone just hand reg and get the buyer's knock...someone may been domainer for years w/o any selling

Unless you have a great name chances are you wont get an offer in less than 60 days anyway

hmm i see.

what if i bought the domain a few days ago and just put it on the featured auction list on sedo...

imo it has potential, since a fairly similar website was sold for a decent price... i hope lol

many people buy names because they see a similar name go for big $$$ only to later find out there was some small diffrence that makes a huge diffrence in price. I remember when a name like petsupplies.com (something like that) sold for 75k then i saw all kinds of quickly put together pet "supplies" names put up on sedo and afternic. People will pay big money for the top of tops name, but offen not give you $50 bucks on your 2nd, 3rd or worse name. Bottom line dont spend money advertising a sedo auction until you really know you got a great name, and if its that good people will find it.

Bought a domain and received an offer from an end user 2 days later. Not sure if I want to sell since I might have plans for the domain. It was an expired domain.

You can never know when you will get an offer.

The most I have sold a domain for so far ($50) I got the offer and the deal was all done within 2 hours of registering the name.
