So how is your 2020 going sales wise? Are you on a pace up from last year or down?

So far 2020 has been better than 2019 for me.

Google's search engine algorithm changes as well as the reduction in PPC payouts adversely affected the aftermarket 2012 forward. The release of hundreds of new extensions in a short time span diverted funds which might have gone into $xxx aftermarket purchases into new extension acquisitions. So while sales in 2020 are on pace to exceed the last few years, we are still behind 2010 levels. In a recent discussion with my Godaddy rep I discussed why I am not acquiring new domains but just renewing current inventory. In my experience, end users generally speaking do not care about domains and will spend six figures on advertising, website development, lead gen and SEO services before spending $xxx on a domain name.

So far 2020 is great for me. Historically May 2020 was my best month so far. I observed May 2020 was best month for many other friends and investors in our industry.

2020 so far is better than 2019 (January to June)

    2019 was better than 2018

    2018 was better than 2017

    2017 was better than 2016

    Thanks

May was the great month, I had many more leads than in previous months.
Unfortunately, not all of them turned in sales, but I'm still halfway to my 2020 sales goal.
    Good luck to all!

    What are sales?

Forgetting what it feels like to close a deal as at work we are practically giving it away and with domains it is.....offers, low ball offers and price requests but no conversions - reset BIN's on Afternic, mixture of make offer and BIN's on Sedo, a few listed on DAN, pulled domains of the Brandable sites and continue to play the waiting game......

As I said in another thread - still plenty of time to go in 2020 though, so all good... :xf.wink:
