Hi NPers,

I was hoping anyone who has domains at NameSilo and uses their parking services can share some of their experiences here with us?

Thanks so much!

Should be the same Google feed as everywhere...

Parking your domains with NameSilo is a great way to get your AdSense account banned forever. NameSilo doesn't have a Google parking feed, like real parking providers do. Instead, they plug your AdSense publisher ID into a "mini-site" built with a crappy template with some fake auto-generated content.

It's as if someone at NameSilo read Google's terms of use and did exactly the opposite of what Google said people should do.

@crunchyg that was my first thought but I would love to hear if someone really use it and write here is it works.

We acknowledge that Google AdSense is no longer accepted on our parking pages and we are planning to remove the component from our parking page options. We are also in the process of working with a few parking providers for seamless connection to our platform. Alternatively, you can use any other parking solutions you find online that provide such services.

Is Michael Goldfarb still at NameSilo or did he leave after the acquisition?

Good to know before I started testing ;D.

Michael is still around in a consultative role post the acquisition. We like to pick his brain on product related questions and longer-term strategic decisions.

You should pick his brain on how to do a proper 301 redirect, because the backend developers who are working there now are clueless.

This was our biggest fear about the acquisition. Once the founders quit, things start going down the toilet. Like I said in my email to support, if you guys don't get your shit together, I am taking the entire portfolio to Pork Bun.

Can you please clarify your comment? Our re-direct technology is the same as it has always been. If you're experiencing issues with a particular domain, please contact us at [email protected] from the respective account so our team can investigate and troubleshoot.

It's always been set up incorrectly, because your developers are not in good command of htaccess and/or nginx rules. They do multiple 301 redirects when only one is needed, which destroys domain authority with Google and kills SEO.

My conversation with your support lead nowhere. They just don't have the technical chops to handle this, nor do they have any desire to understand the issue. Feel free to ask them to forward the email thread to you.

This would not have happened when the founders were actively managing Namesilo. They understood when issues were serious and fixed them quickly.

We have tasked a developer on our team to look into how easy it would be to implement this fix. Thank you for your feedback.

Do you realize how ludicrous it sounds that you have "tasked" someone with something so basic? You don't need to create a task force to get your redirects in order, it's not rocket science. Anyone who has run his own server (i.e. half the people on this forum) knows how to write .htaccess and Apache redirect rules. This is really elementary stuff, and it's disturbing that you are managing 3 million domains without having a grasp on how stuff works. Why did you guys buy a registrar to begin with? This lack of competence only confirms what was discussed previously.

PMed you to sort this out. As mentioned above, our re-direct technology is the same as it has always been (one 301 redirect) and our devs have confirmed this.
