Newbie question ... what factor does the age of a domain play in its value and how long should you hold on to a domain before attempting to flip it?

Thanks for the quick answers ..except for a few names long gone, it is more like art... seems beauty is in is in the eye of the beholder.I would say Domain History is more important than Domain Age. Age means little if the domain has remained parked for 10 years and receives little to no traffic.
Some domains get dropped and re-registered while other domains are yet to be considered due to unseen circumstances. 10 years ago no one knew what a QR Code was so the domain was useless.
