Hi,
Newbie question ... what factor does the age of a domain play in its value and how long should you hold on to a domain before attempting to flip it?

There is no rule, while age is a bonus, good names can sell regardless of age.
But bad domains will remain bad domains no matter how old, it's not like wine :)

I peeped your portfolio link and looks like you'll be holding 90% of that list for a while

imo...

I hope not :)
Because there are plenty (most) that probably should not be renewed (imo).

I would say Domain History is more important than Domain Age. Age means little if the domain has remained parked for 10 years and receives little to no traffic.

Some domains get dropped and re-registered while other domains are yet to be considered due to unseen circumstances. 10 years ago no one knew what a QR Code was so the domain was useless.

Thanks for the quick answers ..except for a few names long gone, it is more like art... seems beauty is in is in the eye of the beholder.

Well ... yeah but for many/most I have a personal interest in developing and have ideas to do so... I already let some expire that I didn't want to perhaps develop. Anyway true you need to make a living but do I expect this to be it .. absolutely not. It is a hobby to (maybe) help out our finances (crossing fingers) and I really don't like sales. I like to make/design more and find that more enjoyable. Some people really like sales, chasing the lead, the hunt etc. and that ain't me! In truth I am not nearly hard-nosed enough IMO and have more in common with Bert Miller!

No, it's britishcomedies.yeah! - in other words a personal interest in BritComs .. lot of devoted fans in the US. :hearts:
