How Good OR Bad .IN Domains are?

Hello,

Everyone know .com are most valuable domains followed by .net.

but where will you put .in domains?? how good or how bad .in domains are??

I really don't know how to know the worth of domain extensions?

.In is viable in the Indian market. I believe more active sites exist in the .co.in space. However, there does appear to be a trend toward .in for India-located multinationals.

The cctld itself has little to no reputation outside the Indian market. Currently a clean slate--hinging mostly on the promise of Indian economic growth. The only domains that are emerging as having stable, higher-than-a-single-year-registration-fee value are LLL.in (with anglo-centric letters) -- a result of the fact that the subset is completely registered and the reseller market is composed largely of English speakers.

.in domans are less price while compared to .us domains
because of most indians use .com domains than .in or .co.in I also seen herre some people were sellling .in domains for less price

That is great!!

I understand a bit that .in names are not very old trend. in fact, it is new. So I cannot take the value of .in domains in comparison to .com or .net.

But if we have a look in future.. say after 3-4 years, then how would you rate .in domains??

Will the value increase?? Or time is not a factor here??

I think the value will increase as more people in India use the internet + Indias economic growth. Hold on to them!

I believe there is high potential for .in/co.in to exceed in value of .de and .co.uk in about 10 years. It could become the most valuable country code out there...If you have been in India recently or live in India you understand the momentum in the country.

Real estate prices in major Indian cities are now reaching US real estate prices in some cases. Clearly these prices are going up in India and its being pushed by demand and buying power.

The missing piece is that domain names are still not generally understood by the Indian market...That could take a while...For crying out loud...we have been waiting for that to happen here in the US for over 10 years and we still get excited when NY Times or a major article comes out in the press...

I was having a great .in domains. It was LLL.in

Um....it was vii.in but I sold it for few pr3 and pr4 links. As i thought it is not having that worth. But after reading some replies I am thinking that it was a bad deal for me.

Can any buddy tell me where to register .in names for less than $21. if some registrar is there over net?

IMHO, it will take at least 10-15 years before .in will come close to rivaling the .us extension. While India is definitely growing rapidly as a country, this change will not happen overnight, and it will be quite a while before .in will catch up (people will prefer .com).

I am into business for last 1+ years. And I am seeing the cyber activities for last 3 years.

I have seen there is huge development in last one year. Frankly, I guess the last one year is the year where development in internet in india is biggest so far.

I don't think India will need 10-15 years. I think in coming 5 years india will be rocking and the number of online buyers will grow enormous.

I've been doing development for quite some time now of my older registrations. It only takes about 1-2 months to make enough to pay for the renewals in most cases. Then the rest is profit to reinvest.
