Hi!

I will use Escrow.com at my first time soon. I have question, pls teach me if you guys know, thanks!

I saw sb. posted in some forum when he sale domains to buyer through Escrow.com, he just change his domain's whois info to buyer's, actually he did not push to buyer, but Escrow.com noticed him he could get money because they found the whois information changed.
So how Escrow.com make sure the buyer can really get domains ? Just whois information ?

And, If I pushed the domains to buyer, but the buyer change the Whois info back to my information (Actually these domains has already in his account, he control these domains ), Escrow.com just see the whois info still keep the old info, then they will not give me the money ?

So, how does Escrow.com protect buyer and seller ?

I had a similar experience last year -- buyer received his domains but went on vacation before confirming to escrow that he received them. Anyway, long story short, Escrow wasn't going to pay me until he confirmed. They extended the Inspection period twice, and finally the buyer got back from his vacation and confirmed that he had received the domains.

I'm not sure honestly what would have happened had he said he didn't receive them. Another scary scenario if after receiving them he changed the whois to appear as if I still owned them...

I've used escrow on transactions from $300 to $25000 and never had a problem... Should I consider myself lucky?

Don't know, but the more I think about it, I think going with a service like Moniker Escrow really is the way to go on very large sales...

The problem is that they aren't a registrar but maybe they have "contacts" somewhere

Hmm i've never used escrow for anything but I thought the whole point was they are the middle man, there shouldn't be any dealings directly between buyer and seller. Seller pushes domain to escrow company and buyer sends $$$ to escrow company, escrow company then pushes the domain on to buyer and sends the $$$ to seller.

If both buyer and seller are acting on the assumption that the other party's trustworthiness is unknown, and the escrow company is trustworthy, pushing a domain directly to the buyer almost defeats the purpose of using escrow.
