I'm curious to know what domainers here do to proactively "sell" their domains, if anything, or whether they just wait for a buyer to approach them...thanks in advance for your responses, all of you :great:s...

Sedo and Namedrive, N/D for the revenue. Daily search for end users via overture.

Sedo and selling it on ebay is popular.

I usually sell them on ebay. And alot of people actually bid. You should try it.

I try to list them for sale on my site and also try and make my site interesting by blogging with useful domain information so that people keep coming back to my site, linking to my site, etc... because it's interesting and regularly see my domains for sale. I use namepros, ebay and tdnam.

I list them on Sedo, Afternic, TDNAM and any other free DN listing site I find. I also have my website and I am currently planning some covert non-internet advertising.....fun stuff!

I list them at Sedo, Afternic, etc., and wait for a buyer (Which never happens)
I set up my own portfolio Web page
I auction them at Ebay
I auction them at NamePros
Other = I sell at few forums.

  • I list at Sedo and Afternic (Usually Afternic doesn't help whatsoever).
  • I email buyers that have similar or same names in worse extensions.
  • I email top-notch domainers that have a collection of similar domains in their portfolio
  • I place some of them in my signature, and I get plenty of offers via PM for that if you're wondering.
  • I place them for sale at NamePros, DNF, SP, and DP.

Choose a good price for it and stick with it.

As far as the other options are concerned. I never placed my domains for sale on eBay, and probably never will. I placed a domain for auction only once at NamePros, and probably never will again. I've always thought about creating a portfolio webpage that lists all my domains, but never really got around to doing that.

And my advice is to never auction a domain.
