lol I've taken new domains and had them ranking on page 1 in weeks.

Aftermarket is full of crap domains with terrible spammy backlinks. Why did the owner drop the domain? Why are they selling? hmm

The best previously owned domains are "Pending Deleted" or Expired domains because the owner still has control over them.

Send them an e-mail and make an offer. Aftermarket is for chumps. You enter a bidding war with clueless domainers who drive the price up.

what if i tell you that you are right and wrong. if domains not renewed by IBM are spammy then show me how your domains are less spammy. spammers not gonna waste money on good domains since they can rank and bank on crap domains.
if there's no practice of selling domains you do not own by alerting end-users of some opportunties, then let them drive the prices up, what's your problem? money is not infinite, issue gonna resolve automatically.
op, and for seo, you can do it without a domain if it's such a problem, just set-up a hosting and rank an IP-address website then when you get clarity 301 your http://ip-address to a domain.

Seams like you are the one who is "clueless".

Domains in pending delete are NOT under control of the previous owner (or even the Registrar) anymore. Once a domain enters pending delete status, nobody has control over it, except the registry (not Registrar) - for instance in case of .com domains - verisign, who will release the domain after 6 days for the public (including all the snapping services who will fight for it on drop day, if the name is good).

Expired domains in stages before pending delete is a different story.

Go learn the domain basics first before calling everyone who is participating in aftermarket "clueless".

p.s. of course its always better to cut out the middleman and buy good names directly from previous owners (if possible and if they still have control over the name and reply to messages). But be sure that this is nothing new and you are not the only one doing that.
Sometimes there is no other way than participating in auctions, backorder, etc.

lol good job buddy. I get pending deleted domains on a regular basis. It's easy if you have contacts.

Now go back to your cubicle!

GiftedDomains is correct. Unless you have connections at Verisign, as far as .COM and .NET goes, it is impossible to redeem a pending delete domain.

That status is set by the registry itself, not the registrar.

Very true Brad. Since you are human, I will tell you how to get these contacts.

Go to Jigsaw and search for Verisign. You get the entire company directory and can find excellent contacts there.

If you need an introduction, simply get a VP or regional manager at your domain registrar to introduce you.

The problem in our industry is that SO MANY "domainers" are keyboard jockeys who love to type, type, type but cannot close a deal over the phone!

It's the domainers who pick up the phone and use it that get the best deals.

Make a good Linkedin profile too because after you get off the phone, I guarantee they will search for you.

Thanks for the input, Brad :)

:D , yeah sure , Don Corleone.

There were maybe two or three recovered pending delete domains in the entire history of internet, and only because of court decisions which forced verisign to stop the drop process for those domains, and only because of some special circumstances:

http://www.domainnamenews.com/regis...stopped-the-deletion-of-publication-com/22324

and you are telling us that you "get pending delete domains on a regular basis" because of your "contacts"? (which would mean that verisign would risk its entire integrity and reputation for YOU!?) :)

Stop lying. The hole you are digging for yourself is getting bigger and bigger the more rubbish and lies you post here.

BTW, this is a serious accusation and defamation you are nonchalance and publicly making here with your childish posts and can have legal consequences, since technically ONLY Verisign is able to "get pending delete domains", and you are telling stories about your (of course non existent) "contacts" @ verisign giving you pending delete domains. Before posting your next lie, think twice.
