So if i drop a domain old from 1997, have the same value of another registered on 09/18/09 ? So the domain age is the time after the drop ?

If you register again, you can call by redomain :D

It's no longer aged because it will have a new creation date. Just call it a "domain with history".

Example.....XXX.com first reg 1997 and then does not renew and drops today...you pick it up and reg it..now xxx.com as far as age is 1 day old. IF you get the domain and it has NOT expired (ie; not dropped back to public registration) then its 12 years old as it has not been dropped and keeps age....Hope this helps

If a name drops at Godaddy and somebody buys it at the expired domain auctions it keeps the original registration date. In this case it would still be 1997.

Be sure to check the status of surrounding TLDs to see if they're also registered and then you will often have a gem on your hands (regardless of the fact that it dropped)...

We monitor many current .com names are are regged in other gTLD (and often ccTLD) variants and it's amazing how long a 5 year old domain can stay available when surrounding TLDs are taken. Even in the case of .com.
