If you are a registar, can you fake a domain name age?! like make it looks it's from 1997,etc?!I knew, that in some cases, like if the domain name is expired (it's going to redeption period),etc... you may loose your initial date registration date to some registrans, but to others you don't loose it... so ....

I think when the domain drops, the creation date will be reset anyway. Unless someone (or the registrar) renews it before it drops. Correct me if I'm wrong.

Registrars are not permitted to "fake" the age of a domain name. They are required to maintain an accurate whois of domain "age".

When a domain name reaches the end of its term (past registration, redemption, deletion) it then goes back to the registry as available. When it is registered again, the new "age" starts over.

So the answer to your question is - No.

You said "Registrars are not permitted to "fake"" ... but can they do any trick to override that option?!

No, I believe the registry is regulated.

A simple program can check inconsistencies :
eg. Record came in on 16/6/2005, does not tally with domain age of 10 years.
