Hello,

I have a question about Godaddy's TDNAM closeout deals. I found a domain name with 12 years on it and its on sell for $5. But, will the domain age carry on? I mean, i am buying it because its got domain age but when i get it into my account, will the whois still shows creation date of 1997? If it shows creation date of March 12 then its useless.. please advice as to how this all works

Thank you,

I'm going to say yes.

I looked at the whois on two domains I bought last year in the tdnam closeout and they show creation dates of 2007 and 2005.

Yes, the age will carry over. When you purchase names from TDNAM whether it be via auction, or closeout, you are purchasing a name which is not at the stage of dropping. If you were to backorder that name through lets say Snapnames, the age will most likely disappear. You will be safe with your purchase.

I have done my fair share of purchasing on TDNAM. :hehe:
