I have tried godaddy's backorder's before and could never figure out why they could not grab anything but .us domains. Well, i figured out why (secret) but here is a funny story about there backorder system!

While I was searching thru some lists this morning, I had seen a domain that looked interesting..... So I checked the availability at Moniker.com and the domain was available. ( It had just dropped )

So I normally reg my domains with godaddy, so I went to see what godaddy had to say about the availability of this domain. TAKEN...... well not just taken, it's backordered. Hummmmmm

So I call godaddy and I ask to reg this certain domain name. "No Problem" they said, so I go thru the process and reg the domain. :hehe:

So the moral of the story, even though somebody had the domain backordered at godaddy, I was able to call godaddy and reg the domain. LOL

Now if that doesn't make you laugh, I don't know what will. :)

He is joking about the fact that someone tried to backorder this name, and pay $18 for it. Whereas he was able to simply call and buy it.

It is only because the whois on godaddy is so slow. And on tens if no hundred of times, I hand regged name that godaddy backorder failed.

I have 5 copies of their backorder credit and used them every day. Guess what after 6 months I still have 3 left.

Lol. I figure ill just wait and see if i can reg it when it comes avail, rather than try and backorder the names.

I think the main reason godaddy's backorder system does not work is because they do not have a Live Whois! I have contacted them about this, so we will see what happens. (probally nothing)

Think of the money they are losing :yell:

Its hard to think of the money your loosing when you make so much. Granted its not a massive company but they are pulling in some nice yearly number.
