The views expressed on this page by users and staff are their own, not those of NamePros.
We were talking recently about the Avatar 2 movie possibly revitilizing '3D', but I have seen virtually nothing about it being in 3D. Is it even in 3D, or are they releasing the 3D version later or something?

As somebody who promotes VR products, I can confirm that VR headset sales are way down on last Xmas. But as multiple news articles have pointed out, last holiday season was a 'perfect storm' for VR headsets, so better to compare with 2020, and it's considerably up on that. And of course, 2023 should rock with the PSVR 2 headset, the Quest 3, and likely the Apple headset, along with the likes of the new HTC headset.

Elad posted about this in the XR thread : https://mixed-news.com/en/htcs-new-...y-be-called-vive-xr-elite-and-will-cost-1400/
Perfectly believable the next vive will contain XR in the name as I said 3 or 4 pages back, those stand-alone HMD's the are all based on the Qualcomm chip where they hold the TM on XR and will likely be labeled as such 'if they want to'. Apparently, Qualcomm is going to make some kind of big deal about it on the next snapdragon release.

And that will likely take place before any of the HMD's based on it are released.
Same with all the other stand-alones, with the exception of Apple. If we see that anytime soon.
Think of the 'intel inside' branding for a good compare.

I somehow have it in my head that Microsoft has been quietly playing the same game as Apple, designing their own chip for use in their HMD. That is something we will just have to see.
I am skeptical as to how well they would do with that. But if they do, we may have some new terminology to deal with. But they have already made their deal with HOLO. I doubt it would change.

But we are going to have the full scoop on XR in the next 70 days or less no matter. Not much wait left and it could be much shorter.

Where exactly did you see that Qualcomm holds the tm for XR?
I doubt it will stop anyone iit'sbecoming a catch-all term for the industry.
But lets discuss.

Just hand regged V/R/i/m/m/e/r/se/ in the king COM, can't believe it was available, it dropped 2 months ago.
Interestingly, someone listed ARimmerse on Dan for just 2500.
Either they're happy to flip, or don't think much of the keywords to charge a higher price.

The keyword VR is much stronger than AR, whey more searches.

Apple announces a term and this can all turn around very quickly

Well, we do have this thing today that we did not have then.
gTLDs
You simply can not corner that many names. Plenty of alternatives. That puts a crimp on the depth/valuation. Acceptance of gTLD's is ongoing.
Especially where it compliments the name.
I have been aware of it for a few years and bought the gTLD's of my better .com's where it compliments it.
i.e. teleportertours / teleporter.tours will sell as a package.
One has to re-think the position you hold now compared to just 5 years ago.
While I am sure most names will have broad use, it's the depth I question for many, not all.

The rest we are still waiting to see.... the exact terms... I am a betting man and placed my bets.
But I see it as a evolving thing. What stands out in the beginning will quickly change ever faster
I can only advise not to dump if it does not look like it's not going your way. You likely have had time to review and do that already. But now the horse race is about to begin. This is what you have waited for with a paid seat. Don't tear up that ticket just yet.

But cyber/cyberspace is something I have pointed out several times here and we made it long enough to see that in the rear-view mirror. But that term was not alone. I remember that became one of the largest pick-ups of that time. You can look back at the sales history and see the investor ONLY speculation. And there were some big ones many of us would be happy with.

Does CYBERSPORTS look like a 18k name today ?
CYBER has taken new descriptors. More refined to exact tech. Cyber was to broad.
It kinda means 'virtual'... cyberspace = virtual space.
Can you imagine VRSPORTS a 18k name ? OK $25 with inflation...LOL
Of course you can and likely more.
Ever changing.
Gotta know when to get out while it's hot. Greed gets the best of us sometimes.

do u think cyber, glasses,,com will have good future value? what would u be asking for it?

I was also able to register them and you also tipped them to me later. I even left metaversegames in 2015 and dropped pornometaverse and metaversenetwork. It was a different time back then and metaverse was nothing yet. I was busier registering other kinds of names. Still, I'm happy with what I've got now. But of course I would liked to have them in my portfolio (:
