The views expressed on this page by users and staff are their own, not those of NamePros.
I made a decent amount of money from mobile domains in the adult industry. We have to remember not everything goes on Namebio.

And if AR does push over to headset/glasses then why can't their be the same use cases that are applied to VR.
Not only does everything not go on NameBio, But not everything on NameBio actually changed hands.
I have quite a few that sold once and some twice and were never paid for, so I still have them.
...
I don't think anyone is really saying that the same use cases are not possible with AR, but most are unlikely.
The BIG DIFFERENCE is TOTAL IMMERSION that you obviously can't do with AR.
It's a limiting factor for what you are talking about here. Names will reflect that in value of the sales if not the quantity and variety of them.

VrTravelBooking
.com

IMHO, this is the type of domain you want to be very cautious in hand-regging... "Travel" is a natural topic for VR, but this specific domain has a few things going against it... First off, it's relatively long, three words, no previous namebio sales that I see for "travelbooking," and "TravelBooking.com" itself is just a parked page and remains undeveloped... (Point being, you want to be very careful about which kw's you attach to VR... Again, JMHO... GL with your name! ;))

I am happy with the risk I have taken.

Virtual reality and augmented reality is the future of online casinos

There was a stir in online gambling industry a couple of years back which talks about Virtual Reality games. With advancements in technology, the Virtual and Augmented Reality gaming is taking off. The future of online casinos seems to be bright with the industry gaining a steady momentum. The number of bets from the VR and AR online casinos is all set to grow to £423 million as per few reports by the year 2021.

Virtual Reality – The future of online casinos

Online gambling generates £3 billion annually in the UK as per the recent statistics. This figure is set to grow with the launch of more VR and AR online casinos. Online casinos go through constant evolution and growth. VR and AR online casinos have opened up a new spectrum of the base of players, thereby augmenting the annual growth in the industry by 10%. The inception of AR and VR will draw in more players and widen the horizons of the online gaming industry. People would be more comfortable playing from the comfort of their home instead of spending money to step out.

VR portals offer numerous benefits to the online gambling industry as far as marketing opportunities and customer experiences are concerned. VR transports the players to exciting locations without having to leave their home. Online and mobile casinos are drawing groups of players by enhancing their offerings. Few online casino game providers have started developing AR and VR-based casino games. This makes it easier to guess the future of online casinos.

With VR becoming the next big thing in the technology sector, the online gambling industry is getting quickly adapted to the major changes in the technology landscapes. It would not be wrong to expect big things from VR as it is bound to be the future of online casinos. Microgaming is leading the industry when it comes to VR gaming.

Pokemon Go created a stir in the mobile gaming industry. This fresh new take on gaming, a lot of developers are reviving their games to adapt to the latest trends in the industry. Pokemon Go makes use of augmented reality, which is an innovative technology that adds virtual components in a physical environment. Gaming developers can make use of real backdrops with the aid of this technology for interacting with the players through game characters. AR permits games to be played anywhere. The best thing is the experience offered is unique each time.

More and more developers in the online gambling industry are aware of the popularity of VR games. This has compelled them to adopt the technology in their offerings as well. Slot games can be made more engaging and advanced with the aid of augmented reality. At Spinzwin Casino one can have the real enjoyment of all online games in one place.

Microsoft is rolling out Hololens which can have a profound impact in the world of augmented reality. The headset being offered by them is much more advanced than what is being currently offered in the online gambling industry. Hololens can prove to be beneficial for casual games such as casino titles. Cutting edge developments are triggering massive growth in the VR and AR online casinos. This makes the future of online casinos quite evident. Infinity Augmented Reality Inc., in collaboration with Google, is set to change the way casino games are played online. Although there are challenges ahead, the future of online casinos seems to be bright.

$2 is cheap enough if you were buying them anyway.

So... how much are the renewals for .online @ GD?

Strong keywords anyway.

VrTravelBooking
.com

While I always have reservations on 3 words, it's not always a no-no.
And as long as you are not blanketing the landscape with them, a few targeted with a strong keyword
is always a fair chance play. MHO is just don't take 'to many' chances.

There is only so much GOLD to go around. So you must find more SILVER & BRONZE... LOL

I still like my

TeleporterTour(s) - Teleporter.Tours & HolodeckVacations ...LOL

Not the only ones I hold for that niche, but they are the cutest and most memorable !

Probably be a few more years before they see any action. But I'm ready !

I always thought the Starbreeze approach was the way VR would develop... Get people comfortable with the VR experience in arcades, and then migrate into homes... In essence, the arcades serve as real-world showrooms for the tech (Much better than 3 minutes looking through a headset at a Best Buy store...) Also, as VR arcades allow room-scale experiences, with multiple players, along with accessories (guns, treadmills, eventually haptic suits, etc.), the potential consumer gets a much better idea about the true capabilities of the tech. I like how the article refers back to PacMan and the original video arcades - Those of us old enough to remember the first emergence of video games are very comfortable with the idea of this kind of organic growth of the tech...

Had a Vr Arcade open up near in my city, I went to a meetup group there and it was an interesting experience but I worried that he was charging $30 for half an hour to play a Vr game, The Vr arcade had six months to succeed but did not prove profitable in the end. He paid for licences to use some games (from Steam) and some were given to him for fee. As well as games he offered experiences and short movies. The Vr meetup group still continues although I haven't bothered with it for a while, mostly due to it's location

@DnEbook, I'm here in L.A. where they opened up one of the first IMAX VR arcades... So far, it seems to be doing pretty good business... This said, I'm sure as new entrepreneurs work the kinks out in terms of pricing and experience, we're going to see some winners and losers in the VR Arcade business... Time will tell if the overall VR Arcade concept bears fruit...

PS - $30 for a half hour is steep!!! :banghead:

Yes I think his pricing cost him big time, he did say that he had to spend up to $2,000 to get some game licences so I guess he was trying to recoup his investment on a short term lease on bricks and mortar as well. I think the perfect scenario would be to offer both digital and arcade style options, example you play a game at an arcade and can then continue once you get home. Agreed, law of averages will always see some do well and some not so well in any form of business.

I think iMax has this figured out pretty well. They have conducted many studies as to pricing acceptance etc.

But one of the many issues going on right now with vr arcades is from those that are attempting to franchise a operation. There is a lot of interest to keep this under wraps until some of the big boys who have control get a handle on it. The licensing fees are the killer .

You might have noticed that when I find a local somewhere in the world going it alone with original content, I'm sure to post it here for all to see. They do their own dev work on it and if they can branch out and make a dozen of so locations, they stand a chance competing with the big boys who pretty much have this figured out. I am making my own investments in this at multiple tiers of the biz.

I think it's a bit to early to launch one. At least till you know how the other guys are pricing the experience.
But I can see the insurance rates for this being a high level of overhead.
You might set-up with a perfect biz model for now and when the franchises let loose with one in your town, it could quickly kill you off by squeezing any margins you might have been able to achieve.
It's a tricky and risky biz to start at this point of the game.
I expect to see the proper franchise biz model to start perhaps late next year or into 2019.
I believe Starbreeze already has partners for it's own game so to speak. Might need a few more.
Will it franchise or Co owned entity only ? Franchise models make the most sense here.
It's going to require a continuous re-investment and your own dev's.
Large chain models (franchises included) are the only way anyone could keep up.
It's not something a handful of individuals with 3 locations can keep up with and be profitable 'for long'.

I know I'm not buying any more names for the niche. The few I have are enough.

These guys seem to have the idea and are always booked out for group gamers, as opposed to arcades, they have an "inhouse" format that is working

I can't wait for the headsets to become so affordable that no VR Arcade will be able to survive unless they are offering unique 4D experiences. It will happen...

The problem is, no matter how affordable headsets become, you still need a 5000 sq. ft. plus arena to really enjoy a true multiplayer "free roam" experience with full accessories/props/etc... (I suspect this is what you mean by a 4D experience?) Anyway, this is kinda why laser tag arenas are still around even though you can play at home... And I suspect many of these laser arenas will eventually be converted to VR experiences a la "Void"...

JMHO, but I think there will always be a need for a version of the "holodeck!" ;)

Yup, that is what I meant...
