I have several domain names with very high PR numbers on google...if I forward these domain names to a website, will it help or hurt the website?

Will it cause the PR ranking to go down on the domain name with the high PR that is forwarded?

Does it matter if it is masked forwarding or not?

Just curious if anyone knows the answers to these questions... :o

Spill your knowledge if you got it!!!

:hehe:

The views expressed on this page by users and staff are their own, not those of NamePros.

The PR will not be transferred to the new site for sure. It depends how you forward the domains, but most likely both domains will go to 0. PR is mainly based on backlinks, so if all the links are pointing to Site A, they are not all of a sudden going to change to point to Site B.

so then what is the advantage of buying domains with high PR rankings?

With permanent redirect, the PR shall be transferred.
Better yet, just make some little content on that domain, and place a link from there pointing to the domain you want to pass pagerank to.
Hurry, next update shall be any day soon.

Got to watch with forwarding. If you dont do a VAILD 301 redirect Google will see all the domains as dup content and drop them all.

I myself have thought about doing this too. But I ended up just putting up portal pages with some ads and some PPC Search keyword links...
