High bid expired domain

Why did Expired Domain mostly bidding in auctions and goes on higher bid on Godaddy.

Whereas same domain with valid date did not get even a single bid what is the logic behind can anyone help on this.

Sure, dropping Gold.com get's bids while active NASkjdnAJSDNKJASndk.com doesn't even get a starting bid.

It doesn't matter if the domain is dropping or not, if it's a good domain, people will fight for it.

I checked 2 of your domains - they are listed as BuyNow.

To list them for 7-day auction with bids:
Go to your auctions selling list, select them and delete (there is a button on the top of the table)
Then use "List a domain" button and add them as 7-day auction.

I tried everything dear but no response don't know how GD making self money on expired domains before dropping

Its all about the people who are taking part in the auction / bidding

For example, if two or more people happen to want the same name & are taking part in the auction then there will be (likely) a bidding war. If no one is interested in that name you won't get any bids (this example applies to okay names). You can pay for upgrades to increase your domain name's exposure, doesn't guarantee that the name will get bids.

I agree with Ted, quality names will always get bids doesn't matter if it is expired or not, doesn't matter who the seller is & will go for xx,xxx easy.

Why are you contacting Godaddy? maybe I am missing something here.

It's ok for biding war for interesting names but i found that name you won in expired category in auction never get in that war again when you put it on auctions, i tried several times many of my domains but no bid in auctions, but sold at BIN prices later at afternic.
It's really something that GD doing that we cannnot understand . May be any expert can light on this.

This is something that's been discussed a few times here. Most of the professional domainers mine for their domains in the expiry stream rather than public listings. While I can't speak for everyone, I would imagine a pro investor sees an expiry name as one that potentially has value based on old backlinks or some sort of traffic heartbeat that could lead to an inquiry or parking rev. While a domain from another investor has potentially been shopped around without a buyer already so it represents less upside.

Not clearing the picture still as it is there. This is clearly something we missing that and could not understand . Some domain names no backlink no traffic, aged and expired get bids as soon anyone win and put same at auction no bids or just end up with xx value lower the winning price.

That is something hide by Big auctions houses.

My last sales on GD auctions were two expired domains that I won for <$100 and sold for $250 and $1900 the next week, and a handreg that sold on 7-day public auction for $350, so your observations may be incorrect.

This does not mean all won domais automatically will sold, sometimes it needs more time and luck.

Congrats @ barefooted for your sales but that is really interesting for all domainers that many times seen that bids are lower than the winning price when again put on auction.

I would not call it a strategy.They were a dictionary word, a two-word and a brandable. The common among them is they had at least one more extensions registered -net/org. Except the handreg, the other were aged >10y.
I have many not sold names and they are not so bad. Not so lucky with them, maybe because they are not registered in more extensions or are not old enough. I can wait for them to get older and will sell one day
Just keep on trying.

I checked some recently sold expired domains and here is result of their age and extensions taken - you may see only a few have no age or no other extensions: (average is 8y and 2extensions)

The difference is the quality of the domain name and how much the auction is expos, in godaddy auction there is +300k domains daily its huge domain market.

Not clearing the picture still as it is there. This is clearly something we missing that and could not understand . Some domain names no backlink no traffic, aged and expired get bids as soon anyone win and put same at auction no bids or just end up with xx value lower the winning price.

That is something hide by Big auctions houses.

I don't know what other guidance you are looking for. Many bidders only bid on expiry inventory, this is not a big auction house cover-up, it's just pure bidder preference.

Why did Expired Domain mostly bidding in auctions and goes on higher bid on Godaddy.

Whereas same domain with valid date did not get even a single bid what is the logic behind can anyone help on this.

Is it only on Godaddy that the price go high? The main reason behind high price on auction is that most of the premium domains are been registered and when such domains are dropping people are bound to place bids on them so that they can catch them, period.
If scraps are dropping, no body will definitely place bid on them either.

You know it is a serious business, we are here for biz and when you are in any auction you are there for biz and not just for any bidding for free as it requires money to pay when you win.
