Did anyone involved in this thread ever get hold of Dongjin Kim?

He's squatting on over 1500 domains, and for the last year I have endlessly tried everything I can think of to contact him (short of getting on a plane to Korea) to buy one domain he has done NOTHING with for over 5 years.

I can't understand the logic. The point of squatting is to have people buy the domains for a far greater price which I'm willing to pay, but I can't raise any for of response.

I've even tried registering an official complaint with his domain provider but they state they can't do anything as he pays his renewal fees each year.

Did anyone get hold of him? If so, please can you help me? I just want to pay this guy for a single domain.

Instead of continuous blaming why not ask for help?

Hi,
I have read the whole thread and I'm shocked that you're accusing this guy of squatting on 1,500+ domains.I don't believe you, because all this domains would have to be TM's which he is violating according to your statement. We are living in the 21st century and you can't find this guy?
I assume you would like to get a domain in .com extension. You better find him or settle with an alternative domain extension.
As of my advice you should not call people names if you don't know them!

Good luck with your domain-man hunt!

Read it again. I said he's been caught domain squatting before (public record), but he's SITTING on 1500+ domains, 90% of which have either never been used or had a website.

And yes, that's the point. I'm trying to find him but he has (in Korean terms) an incredibly generic name, and none of the contact details (phone numbers, emails ever lead anywhere). There are literally hundreds of social media accounts with his name and his name is even spelled/typoed ever so slightly different depending on the registration.

This is more about if one of the several people who posted earlier on in this thread complaining of exactly the same thing, about this same guy, ever actually managed to get hold of him.

Here is the last line from my first post:

"Did anyone get hold of him? If so, please can you help me? I just want to pay this guy for a single domain."

Again, I did not create this thread. It has been going for years before I stumbled acorss it with the same questions, with people also asking if they were able to get hold of this guy who never responds etc.

Some people did offer suggestions of help, but others tried to lecture me about the freedoms of digital asset ownership which is just pointless given the question.

1) Called him a squatter. You claim to be an experience domain buyer but don't know the diff between squatting and investing.

2) You claimed he's lost a UDRP.

3) Have read court records b/c he's been sued.

And you still can't find him. I think you're full of shit.

Blaming someone not going to solve your problem. Specially when he is legally right, why threat him using your legal team.

If it's not listed for sale anywhere how do you know he wants to sell it?
It's his name and might not want to sell therefore he owes you no answer.
(Maybe why no response) :xf.wink:

Not disagreeing. Money does talk. Might help if the guy would respond to someone trying to throw said money at him. I'm not offering $20 by the way. This is a decent commercial purchase and I even had our corporate lawyer (from a large well known firm) reach out but as with everyone else that has seemed to ever try to contact him, silence.
Why engaged corporate lawyers, to purchase the domain or something else? Do you forgot defense lawyers also exist?

The best thing would be that you leave your full name and your contact details in this thread. Write which domain you want to buy and how much you offer! When "he" will read this he will probably contact you, imo.

ooh, I've hit a nerve. Keep your panties on. Not my fault you absolutely suck at researching things online (or better said, even reading a basic thread from the start).

You seem a little hard of understanding, so I explain another time just for you that the contact details listed via ICANN and the court filings are the same on his listings, which never get a response. In fact as far as I can tell, the only time he actually responds is UDRP's.

English must not be your first language so I'll excuse the misinterpretation.

We used our corporate lawyers to make a formal approach of financial offer to buy the domain (so it looked like a legit offer, not some kid trying to buy it).

Calm down.

That's my whole point. I don't think he does want to sell any of the 1500 he's sitting on and why he's been sued and had UDRP's against him.

I'm trying to figure out if anyone ever actually got a response from their own previous attempts which are documented in this threads and others online.

Which is EXACTLY the the question I first asked.

English is not my first language but your blaming + engagement of lawyers indicating something else. Anyway thanks for clarification.
