Hello! I've recently got into domain trading. I've read some books on that topic, been doing researches on what'd be a good purchase and finally few days ago I purchased my first two domains. Now, what I'd like to know, is how much, approx could I get for them? I want to place them on Godaddy auctions, but I don't have a good idea how to value them.

First one is buy-printer.com -> which I think is the better one since it contains a keyword and is quite old (19 years).
Second one is zoviz.com -> Not any keyword included, but I found it "catchy" and short.

Any help will be highly appreciated, thanks in advance!

I hope others more expert than I will respond, but here are my thoughts to get this started.

First as general advice, even though you don't need to go by what they say, I find it helpful to always check Estibot (allows one free per day, or a few with new beta) and GoDaddy GoValue (allow many each day free). I'd also use Namebio to check what sort of similar has sold.
GoValue
Estibot
Namebio

(a) First for buy-printer On the positive side it is two common words, uses a .com extension. On the negative it has a hyphen (sell well in Germany and Eastern Europe, not so much in North America) and to me maybe it is too generic. Nevertheless, it might attract the right buyer. GoValue estimates it at $730. I find they always over price most, so realistically I would hope to get from maybe $100 to $200.

(b) I actually like zoviz a lot. As you say is short, uses a com, is speakable. I could see it going as a brandable. Probably realistically you would need to submit it and fork over the entry fee to a place like BrandBucket or Brandpa or Brandaisy or Brandaisy. If it sells in one of those it would be for more than $1000, possibly much more, but you probably would need to wait awhile and it might well never sell. GoValue gives just over $1200 for its worth. If you can find a seller I think it is worth that.

I think price depends on if you want to get a better price, but take a chance on needing to wait a long time and maybe have no sale at all, or price it at a level another domainer might want it (e.g. on here), that gets a first sale, but not at a huge profit.

I think if you decide to sell directly its important to get the names in front of as many eyes as possible, especially zoviz. I see that it comes up with a GoDaddy landing page now. Good luck.

Hello MetBob!
Thank you very much for your answer. Regarding a) -> that's actually the price I set on godaddy's auction so I'm good to go with that. And when it comes to b) -> great news! I'll try putting it on brandbucket. Thank you once again and have a good week :)

Welcome to NP @Piotr B :
Domain names with hyphens are tough to market. When trying to sell, there's always the "well, it has a hyphen" argument against it. I've found 5-letter pronounceable "brandable" domain names to be like playing the lottery. You might hit one, but most just sit there waiting ...

For future purchases, try and find two word .coms that you can see being marketable for a website or business. I just picked up ServiceMove.com ... think I'll do well with that one. Good luck!
