Help, I'm confused! Why is there value in LLLL, LLL, etc domains?

I'm confused!! Not that it takes a lot to confuse me these days. I don't understand where the value is in an LLL or LLLL LNL etc. I don't understand why someone would register a domain which is a mishmash of letters and letters and numerics let alone why someone would pay hundreds or thousands to buy one of these.
What am i missing? What on earth are the "premium letters" for these domains? i.e why is an "e" better than a "Q" (if it is? If i had one and parked it how would i figure out a category or applicable keywords?

i guess there are 2 main reasons for the value - rarity and everyone is hoping that LLLL goes the way of LLL
i've not been domaining long enough to have witnessed it, but apparently some domainers used to say random LLL was worthless as well.
( no i'm not asking for a debate on LLLL! )

at the most basic level, e is better than q because more words start with e, so there are more posssible acronyms.

Generally, the more scarce domains have been increasing in value most, year-on-year. There is no reason to see why/if this trend will stop anytime soon (esp in .com)

The so-called 'premium' letters are those most common, particularly at the start of (English) words- therefore the most common in acronyms, and therefore the most likely to be bought in LLL (and LLLL) format. If names with premium letters in are more likely to be bought, then they're scarcer, and therefore more valuable.
(i.e. it is likely there are more companies with the initials ACS then there are JXQ- therefore your potential pool of buyers for ACS.com is greater than that for JXQ.com- thus the price should be higher)

It is supposed to mean Consonant Vowel Consonant Vowel
Like DECO.

But beware
C can also mean Character
as in "that domainer is a real Character".
No No - as in either letter, number, or hyphen(-).
Usually used when talking about CCC - three characters like 7dk
So do not buy 4A7E and think you have a CVCV.
You would have junk, not crack.

L's represent Letters but to be more specific one can say C or V.
C is a constanant
V is a Vowel

N's represent numbers
