I have seen alot of these symbols around the forum and I am wondering what is so important about these. I know that LLL stands for 3 letter domains. What is so important about these type of names? I am confused as to how people value the domain names when they are appraised. I know it has something to do with the number of hits it gets on Google, etc.

Also how do you auction your domains away? Can U put a reserve price on it like Ebay?

LLLL Stand for 4 letter names like LLL is 3 letters.
Bacially to make it short, Speculation:
These names are short and easy to type and remember.
Companies ect.. (end users) would like to have the acronyms to make it easier to type & remember for internet surfers to find their website ect..
There is only a certain amount of 4 letter combinations available, once their gone, that's it. Well, their gone.
In reality, any combination of letters can mean anything to anybody at anytime. Some of the reasons why prices are higher for others is because of age, sound, rarity & letters that have the possibilities for more acronyms thus you have more leverage for a sale.
Take fkcj, it's all premium letters, no bad letters, but then it's further broken down by many domainers (reseller market) that K & J are semi premium not as good as F & C
Now if you look at fkcj.cn someone in china thought the domain was exactly what they were looking for, now IF they desire to have the .com that would make a possible end user sale that may be the same amount as say hypothetically, dapo a CVCV: Consonant/Vowel/Consonat/Vowel. Or not?
But in the Market dapo would sell faster and for much much much more money and that is because of what the market is dictating value to be.

Thanks

What do you think of TVGuideOnline.com and EuroExpressTravel.com. Just reg them.

i think TVGuideOnline is a good one

EuroExpress is a TM, isnt it?
if so, the best thing to do, depending on the registrar, is to use the redemption/grace period

i think names like these are only going to get you great returns if you develop them. I think its better to look into LLLL domains than random 3-word domains that you might just end up letting expire. Just make sure you do your research, because some people would try to sell you fkcj.com for like 400 bucks when its actually worth like 55.

I do see the limited availability of three and four letter domains and I understand the market is going crazy for these domains, but that is just not what I am trying to get into. I dont understand that market anyways. Guessing which 3 or 4 letters will make it big bc some company wants their initials on their website? It is just beyond me, but I do understand the profitability in it.

EuroExpress is trademarked (TM?) is that what you are telling me.

There's a great blog you can check out if you want to learn more about the market. 4letternoob.com. Theres huge profits to be made in the 4-letter niche. regardless of what the combination is these make great investments.

i think bricio is suggesting you check if your name is Trademarked or not, if it is you should take advantage of your registrar's grace period

Even if it is Trademarked It doesnt matter my attorney is telling me. Trademarked items are for products that a company or person intends to sell with their logo or tradename on the product so that their brand is easily recognizable and protected from other people trying to sell their same products. If you own a domain name, but do not intend to sell products with the trademarked words (they must be the exact words trademarked anyways - i.e. TV Guide Online not TV Online Guide) then you are not infringing on the laws surronding trademarks. I believe this forum need some expert legal help in interpretting the laws, if I am understanding my lawyer correctly.
