I like this, its timely for me. I've been on the fence about selling some domains here and knowing what I value my names at and seeing these results can help me decide one way or another. Thanks for this poll!

I think you should rephrase the question to get more meaningful results out of the review and redirect participation in the poll primarily to past or current buyers of the domains, with an intent of giving insights to potential buyers and future sellers on suitability of this platform as a domain marketplace. If one, as a potential seller, for instance, would like to gain insight into sell-ability of their names on the platform - by interpreting the results of the poll - they have to cast their vote. But, given, that they (as firm sellers, not buyers) might be never intending on becoming a buyer (remaining only a seller at least for foreseeable future), their vote in a poll would be corrupting the results of voting diluting it with a record of their non-performance. So, the results of the poll should be available to see for 'always a seller, never a buyer' members, without the need for having to participate in it with a vote, while casting the vote should be open to both 'always a buyer, never a seller' and 'sometimes a buyer, sometimes a seller' users of the forum.

I did my selections for the poll..
14, $xx,xxx sales - very interesting. Would love to see what they were.

.
Personally, I wouldn't take that number (14+) as 100%..Easy to checkmark a "$xx,xxx " sale even if you didn't make one.

Personally I bougt a few domains.here and flipped them on other sales platform for a profit.."nice" profit

@atinc, My point being, that the question you asked specifically referred to the number of buyers (or percentage of them) on the platform who have bought domains, but since each and every completed transaction consists of a 'buy' (from a buyer's perspective) and it also presupposes a 'sell', or sale, (from a seller's stand-point), for any positive 'buy' result provided by the platform buyer of a domain you'll have a negative result from the seller that partook in the very same sale which the buyer deemed as the 'buy'. So, your responses from sellers of domains would cancel the results from the buyers, should it be so that both buyers and sellers from the same buy/sell transaction choose to participate in the poll.

For support purposes and to ensure a smooth transaction, I have been added to a lot more than 14 conversations on NamePros where deals were completed for $XX,XXX. I've even been a part of a conversation with a million dollar offer and another conversation with a successful sale in the low $100,000's. All done through NamePros and an escrow provider. These sales have always been for one world .com's or very short (2 character) .com domains.

While we can't know if those voting in the poll are telling the truth, I can tell you that the results of the poll are realistic from what I've seen with my own eyes.

Hope that helps,

I find it very realistic.

Domaining is an informal industry. Last year I closed a 220K deal on Skype 15 minutes after getting the names for sale. It Was for 200 CHIP 4L.COMs, so not a single name. Still a comparably large commission check for 15 minutes work.

Lots of people here buying 5 figure names. It happens every month in the very least. Single 6 figure names are a bit more rare I would venture. I made a couple of 6 figure offers for clients here on NP, but nothing closed here yet.

Note: I have not voted in this poll.

Basically, my point that I was trying to get across (maybe should have added more ) is that if I was to write a blog post, I wouldn't use this poll as my only source of information.

I think you are wrong. There might be fake sales reports here, but a buyer wouldn't lie about if he or she bought a domain on nP.

Sometimes I sense those fake sales reports but I can't be %100 sure about it.

Here are my reasons why I think some of the sales reports are fake:

- Not providing the domain name

- Not giving exact sold price but using xxxx figures.

- Reporting a domain sale totalling xx or xxx figures but not sharing the domain name because of NDA which is nonsense.

Without those data points mentioned above, we are not really reading sales reports but stories of people who believes in fake it till you make it.

I believe the poll results are showing the true parameters here.
