Have you ever sold domain names on eBay at a good price, say high 4-figures or low 5-figures?
How often does it work?
I have seen people sell domain names on eBay but for low prices, say high xx or low xxx.

Please share your experiences about selling domain names on eBay.

I believe it would be a mistake to try and sell a $xx,xxx worthy name on eBay. Or even high 4-figure one for that matter. For the lower-hanging fruit it's not a bad venue IMO, especially now that GD takes 20% off the top.

I go to eBay to buy cheap under valued domains. I personally would never sell a Domain there.

I agree with SirDrago. Especially since I noticed the other day that the fee they charge for listing with a reserve increases depending on the reserve.... something like $20 for every $1,000 with a cap at $100.

To me, this encourages people to start their auctions at their reserve price which means that you have ridiculously high starting bids on domains and loads of zero bid auctions clogging up the system.

I've heard lots of horror stories about eBay. Lots of people losing either the money, or their domain names. This is the main reason I've never done much with domains on there. You know how PayPal is on intangible goods and I could see there being a fair amount of scammers on there.

Unless you provide real firsthand experiences, they're just exactly that -- stories. The only problem I've ever had is with a non-payer. Also you can exclude bidders with zero feedback rating. Only bid on auctions of trusted sellers. Simple stuff really.

Note: I've bought/sold on EBay since 1998.
