Have a nice Weekend people!

My question is for fellow members who have sold domains on namePros.

Which market has worked better for you while selling your domains?

Feel free to share your first experience here or any other interesting sale story you got.

I know there has been $xx,xxx sales before on namePros, I really like to hear the story behind those type of sales too.

Also, I know there have been deals that you lost money on Auctions forum. Please share all your experiences.

When we first started out, Domain Auctions was always the first choice for us when selling here on nP. It's great particularly if you are looking for a quick sell/flip - not so good if you have more of a premium name otherwise you run the risk of selling for a lot less. Afterall, you have to remember that the majority of us on here are resellers, so don't expect big sales.

We focus more now on quality names, and as such, we rarely list within the Auctions section as we are not after quick sales. Make Offer, and Inbound through our signature links does the job for us (y)

When I initially started out with all the enthusiasm, I didn't have a single sale at NP for the first 4 months I think until I put up my first domain for a $1 Auction.

Bingo. The domain sold for a small profit.

It was a good start to learn. Many subsequent $1 auction sales followed after that. Some bought small profits, a few 1 or 2 domains went for a loss.

BIN (if reasonable enough at reseller levels) and Make offer seems to be working positively only for liquid or Premium domains which actually hold some value.

'Request' section does bring in sales with decent domains if priced right (in reality super-low considering domainer to domainer deal)

Can just come up with this much as of now. I'm sure the veterans have a lot more to add here.

Depends on domain
quick sale- auction (good for expiring domain/running out of cash)
valuable price- fixed price/make offer (if you are not in hurry and want best price for your domain)

Back in the day, all forms. Auctions, chat auctions, fixed and make offers sold.

Since I've come back after quite a while away, it seems to be more of an auction platform and the best way to sell.

on my 3rd week now since i started domaining. did not get any luck yet, but still am hopeful.. i have 2 or 3 instances in the request section where my domains fit the requestor's requirements but unfortunately, he may be bitter with me since I've seen his scheme on targeting new domainers for a referral profit. three requests, same poster = no luck with him. i just hope to do business though. but he seems to be out of me. well, i'll go to the next possible buyer now.
