In 2005 I registered one word dot .com. I think I registered it, and didn`t win it in auction.
In 2008 someone bought it for $3000 via escrow.com

And in 2016 nov. I found nice domain scanning namejet pre -relases and was in auction war and won the domain for $380. I didn´t remember that I owned it before

Now yesterday I looked at my old emails, and found that I owned and sold the domain before.

Now I have the domain and almost $2600 in profits

It has happened to me twice. In fact I recently won back the second domain for ± $80 at auction (little competition). I sold it for $,$$$ years ago.
So now I have the two domains back, and a healthy profit But I have yet to sell them again

Happened to me a couple of times that I've sold a hand reg domain for decent money and then a year or so later it has dropped and have reg'd it again.

Not Com but 2-3 .info domains which i sold last year, dropped and i re-register one domain.

one .org that I actually sold close to $1k in 2009 is currently free, even the .net is free
But the techology is out of date for now
