Has this happened to you?

You're sitting infront of the computer and a phrase or made up word comes to mind and you wonder if anyone registered it as a domain...sometimes you're wondering if anyone was crazy enough to register it, or maybe you think it might actually be a good idea to register it for yourself, but for whatever reason you're at the computer so you check the whois, and find out it's just been taken! .. weird. Happened to me a few minutes ago. I checked to see if thefarter.com was taken and looks like someone just registered it a few hours or so ago......and it's even more of a coincidence considering I hardly ever check for domains nowadays.

I remember something similar happened a few years ago as well. I was watching tv and heard a phrase, .. i think it was colorful characters,...so I checked the whois and colorfulcharacters.com showed as available, so I went to a registrar to register it, but someone had beat me to it. In the second case I heard the phrase on tv, so maybe someone was watching that same tv show, but in the case of thefarter.com, it wasn't on tv, I just saw something funny on my computer as i was cleaning out my old files.

its dint happen to me but to my fren..but its a 1 day + diffrence..not few hours..
and wats more shocking the registrant of the domain he wanted to register lives in the same country , although diffrent state.. its a very odd domain actually..not related to his country..

i guess its really coincidence or he leaked out the domain name and somebody registered it

I believe you are alluding to the "collective subconscious"-Carl Jung. Where several people all across the world come up with the same thought at the same time. Very interesting to read up on. Also a weird movie that touches on the subject "waking life".

Carl Jung was a genius, imho. He also said that there was no such thing as an accident, only synchronicity (meaningful coincidence).
