Has this ever happened to you?

You get in the mood to buy some domain names after you have been "illuminated" by an idea.

You run quickly to your computer and sit to start searching for combinations of that name. The more you search the more you get pissed at how somebody could have taken those domains (in all kinds of combinations) from you!!!!!. At times you might tell yourself that indeed these domains were good, and it makes sense that somebody thought of them before you... Then, you start looking at who in the world might have thought about these domains before you ... and it turns that you were your own idea thief, and you had registered these domains a while back...

Has this happened to you? Any ideas on good ways of keeping track of such things?

I imagine if I owned a large number of domains, this would happen to me very frequently. I'm rather absent-minded and I always tell my wife my "new great idea" more than once
