Hi,

I was wondering if anyone has seen and can list here any holding pages that look great and you think help to sell a domain. What i mean by this is a simple logo and a nice clean layout that would help buyers imagine their name being there?

Thanks for any replies.

That luxury page is sweet but Im not sure how functional it would be for parking a quanity of domains if each one required a custom flash animation. It also lacks content for indexing by SE's or keywords for adsense to target.
I realize its still under construction so thats probably why there are no ads either.
It does look great though!

It's back up for those who want to check it out! Thanks for the pump Rob :)

A similar lander: HardBlue. This one incorporates affiliate banners for monetization.

I am going to work on making a handful of these a week/month. I sold a domain last week for $30, it was parked on a lander like these (above) with a logo. I had bought the domain and logo for $9 and spent about 20 mins on the page. The new owner was attracted to the domain by clicking on the page from a forum he is not even using the logo I sold with the domain, but I think the landing page helped finalize his desire to purchase the domain.

Thats another bonus, you can live link it and it also stands a better chance (than most parking pages) of getting indexed :tu:

I'v been thinking about putting some up with logos, good idea.

...as they say at Tescos....every little helps

Cheers, that one is just on my testing space.

funny thing is, I did another one (the same sort of look) about 2 months ago, I put it up with just 2 lines of text on the page to see if it would get indexed.

checked the results in Google, MSN and Yahoo to see where it ranked for the two keywords in the domain. > keyword keyword with space but no "" around it.

Google - Ranked number 8 out of 6,670,000 results

Yahoo - Ranked number 2 out of 21,700,000 results

MSN - No where to been seen in the top 100 :|

Yesterday I dropped some text in to it and some keyword rich outgoing links so hopefully it will do alot better in the next month or two....I guess now its technically become a mini-site . :D

..the end game is still to get it sold to an end-user !

Hey gazzip.

Cool look to the page. I'm always looking for new photo house sources (for buying licensed photos). Can you share where you got the photos for the luxury splash?

Much appreciated.

Me too, can you recommend anywhere ?

Some of them I bought from www.istockphoto.com which is by far the best place I know of to buy photos at a decent price, some of the product shots are free wallpapers (not sure if I can legally use them for this purpose ?) and some are from the media sections, sometimes the likes of hotels etc let you use them but again the terms of use vary and are not always easy to fully understand :tri:

...like I mentioned this one is just a tester so it may change before I launch it ?.

a bit of topic but...but related to photos

Saying as more domainers may have to move into developing mini-sites etc would'nt it be great if we could all get together and offer our own photos for free to each other.

Developer/operater could maybe charge a small membership fee like $20 + at least 30 photo uploads from each member per year to cover developing, hosting space etc....so potentially (depending on how many members) it would only cost $20 to have legal use of thousands of photos.

considering NamePros members come from all backgrounds and all corners of the earth would'nt it be an excellent resource.

I have alot of photos from places like Hong Kong, Bora Bora, Switzerland, New Zealand, Scotland, Thailand etc that I would be happy to let people use in a service like that.

...maybe a good idea for someone to take on ??
