Great Domains question

Hi all,

I have requested a listing for most of my domains on greatdomains.com, and have been refused on all. Except, I have two that I sent in well over a week ago and I have heard nothing from them. I was just wondering if anyone knows if this is a good sign that it might get listed, or did they forget about me, or what? Should I email them back?

Thanks

It's not necessarily a good sign. I've had names returned to me after a week, and I've had names accepted in just a day. You just need to be patient.

Thanks Gene...

I am a bit curious, hoping they will list them, but who knows...

Also, has anyone sold a domain on nicdo.com? I accepted an offer that was made for a domain on Wednesday, but I have heard nothing from the buyer, it says to wait 10 days before contacting nicdo support... Just wondering if this is a bogus bid, or am I way too impatient...

Thanks...

linker Your current delay in obtaining GD responses is NO SIGN in my opinion. I was in communication about certain issues with them through about 04/22/04. Normally, customer service got back to me in 2 work days. I have not received a human (vs. robot) communication from them since 04/22/05. I also have requests for listings, agreements for premium listing, and listing counter-proposals not yet responded to.

Possible they’re: on vacation, at a sci-fi convention, or extended lunch.

Also, sometimes they send more than one response in the same email (More than one rejection in the same email).
Might be worth your time to recheck your other emails just to make sure.

They recently (last week) got back with me about domain listings in 2 days. But submitted a couple more 3 days ago and yet to have a response. I'm adamant that they will get back with me soon though.

I did check my emails and they were all for one particular domain... Anyway, I am curious because I got an offer on one of them and turned it down, waiting to hear if it would be listed there...

Anyway, anyone got any info about nicdo? I asssume they are waiting for the buyer to get $$ to them before they contact me??

Are the final sale prices anywhere near the display prices on GreatDomains?

Not typically, but I've never actually followed the results of the sale vs. the previously listed price.
What we all know is that Great Domains almost always has a "reserve" that is less than the list price. Therefore... I'm certainly not overly confident that they sell for display price.

you shouldn't be to pleased to be accepted into greatdomains, it doesn't mean too much unless it is a .com or .net

Does anyone know how long it takes GD to list a name once they have received the signed listing agreement?

4 - 10 days, I believe.
Had one accepted middle of 2 weeks ago, just showed up yesterday I think.

Cool site and I can't imagine how fast my.com will be sold.

I remember it as exactly 10 working days for my first. However, I have a bunch of agreements they got on 04/22/05 which are not listed as of today.

People are frequently shocked that any one would own more than 10 domain names! They don’t understand that a domain name is not the same as a site such as Yahoo (which they are familiar with) and that domain names are more like different flavors of jelly beans.

So, is you only have one flavor of jelly beans at the luxury goods store, in my opinion, there is a low probability that you will sell that one bean at top prices.

However, if you are lucky enough to have 10 accepted, then there is a much higher probability that you will sell one in a one-year time span. Of course, if it is a .TV or .CC, chances are closer to zero even if you listed 100 names.
