My application was rejected @ Domain Sponspor and now my account @ Domain Hop has been suspended. I'm not having a good 2005 so far :'(

If interested in my domain parking saga, check out the latest entry in my Domain Blog. And if you want to leave comments like, "Haha, you got banned," or "Oh man: you're an idiot," that's OK.

Great blog! I found it very interesting & informative. I'm sorry about what happened at DH. From what I've read on the forums here, they are pretty big sticklers & will drop your account whether you've actually done anything wrong or not. I just opened an account there a few weeks ago, but I'm not trying anything funny, just parking the domains & leaving them. I do wish their optimization was a little better. I had a tax domain there, but couldn't get more than one or two tax-related links on the page, so i moved it back to sedo.
As for the sedo vs. DH argument, the main thing I like about sedo is that you can see what your page will look like from your account. No way to do this on DH as far as I know. The $/click on DH is definitely higher, but if they can't create pages that are relevant, then you're not going to get the click-rate.
I just put autowire.info on DH, and the content is pretty relevant, so we'll see how it performs there (wasn't doing much at sedo).

I tried to post on your blog, but it didn't seem to take the post, even though it saved, so...

I think all the companies are a little fidgety about anything that might even look like a break of their TOS so they don't have to pay. DH from what I've gathered here is the most fidgety of them all. I know a couple people who have been banned for whatever reason. I had thought about doing the same thing you did with some of my domains, to put links from my website, but when I asked Sedo about this, they said No. I took that to be a general rule for all PPC ones since they pretty much have the same TOS, so I didn't do it. Sorry you had to learn that lesson the hard way. They should have a way though to take out what they consider fraudelent and pay for the rest, but they don't do that which is really wrong.

I agree with yandig, the relevancy at DH sucks unless you happen to hit just the right domain. And if you try that domain somewhere else and try to move it back to DH, their system won't seem to let you do so. I had a couple domains I thought I'd experiment on at Sedo, but they bombed. I wanted to move them back, but they wouldn't take. Sedo is very targetted at least, but their click amounts are really low but CTR is pretty high. I average about 20% as a whole. I'd be doing pretty good this month if I had a better click amount, but it's better than what I was doing at DH. DS seems to be a nice cross between them.

Thanks for your comments.

Yeah, with DH, they either get it dead-on with page after page of perfectly targeted links or they miss and the template displays some real poop.

I see your post there. I think you didn't see it right away because it's peak blogging time and the system is bogged down.

Thanks for the great comments. :tu:

Well, if I can't have simple text links to my parked pages then it's just perfectly fine that I got suspended (I guess I can't write "banned" since I am still able to login to my DH account.) They want you to just park your domains and wait for incidental traffic. The very idea irks me! It's just not my style to be so passive!

I've tweaked my custom parked pages so that they won't give the Ad_-Sense editors any reason to complain. It's more work this way but the revenue is much better so I think it's worth it. And with my own custom parked pages, I can link to them all I want!

Sedo is much better with relevancy because they have the inventory . Google great Inventory Kanoodle not so great look at Domain Names DH has no inventory. That is a big topic to have no Inventory. You can probably open another account AMCY put other names there at DH. Good Luck

Not interested. From a revenue point of view, I am much better off developing each domain with some original content. With my own content, I have ad_sen-se, my own links and banners, and I can link to my sites all I want. Bottom line: ad_sen-se is the only revenue program I've experienced that has reasonable rules, pays well & consistently, and has the industry's best content matching.
