I don't really like chasing these new trends, I usually find I'm too late, or they change the product name. I did register PixelAdvice.com though. I thought that if Google flopped ( probably unlikely ) then I could use it for a site to help people fix their screens. :)

Did you check with the pixel mobile intro video in the home page of madeby.google dot com ? Still do you think flop ? Artificial Intelligence is the key with Google pixel mobile.

Google is not Microsoft. Google seems to be able to create new trends and products - Chrome and the Chromebook for example. So I don't think it will be a flop, and I hope people will need advice on using the new phones. I hope that doesn't mean I have to buy one. :)

Not true. An example of a "flop", Google's modular phones (Project Ara).

I don't think they brought that to market though.

Anyway - the phone looks to be quite good, but a bit expensive. I was really more interested in the punt on the domain name.. I might stick SMF on it, and see what happens,

You can go on for a long time should you want to
I mean, it's correct to say that Google is not Microsoft in that they haven't had as many failures. I think it's fair to say that Microsoft had its share of flops over the course of the 40+ years they've been in business. However, I think the way that we look at and run businesses fundamentally changed during the course of that time as well. Google has had many failures, but, I don't think that they will continue to flop product after product as they have a unique way of working on projects that Microsoft, to my knowledge, hadn't implemented (at all, or from the beginning like Google).

I merely wanted to remind people of a market segment that did fail and closely related to Pixel: Project Ara. While it's correct that it flopped prior to product launch, it's a bad comparison to say that Pixel won't in retrospect as there are outlying factors that are being overlooked such as Samsung's Galaxy and Apple's iPhone which are on the market now and have taken their share. In other words, it's still in its infancy and too early to tell. Only the market will be able to decide.

At any rate, "Pixel" will be a trademark. So why even bother with speculative registrations? I wouldn't want iphonerepair.com, so why would I want pixelrepair.com? Which, FYI, is owned by BuyDomains and expired today. I'm sure that they'll be renewing this one now...

I am prepared to support Google, and I don't expect any problems. I'll probably put some stuff about screen repair on there just in case.

I owned SonyVideo.com for several years, and never had any problems as I supported Sony rather than trying to exploit them. Everybody told me that I couldn't use that name as well.

There are dozens of products with "PIXEL". So do you think when Google gets Pixel trade mark, No one is going to use the word pixel anywhere ?

There is such thing as fair use, but, it will be hard to defend pixelscreenreplacement.com when there's a parked page selling screen repair services for Google's Pixel phone. However, if they were Pixel Screen Repair and fixed screen doors in Kentucky, it's unlikely Google would have a case, or even go after them.

Always use best judgement.

Edit: For what it's worth, pixelscreenreplacement.com and pixelscreenrepair.com are available.

I'm sure Google would welcome a site helping them to sell their phones. They may even provide some tech support if the site is well run.

The names are worthless

Google have already trademarked it, so they will need to find another industry to use the names, which is impossible if you think about

Stay far away from company products, it can only lead to trouble...its plain stupidity if you ask me

Thanks for posting those links. So there are 4 companies who have won cases against name owners with pixel in the name, and not one was Google, so Google obviously does not have a monopoly on pixel. The cases contained words like "Ebay", and I can see why they lost that. Google pixel advice.com is going to give problems, but I fail to see why Pixeladvice.com is going to be a problem. I'll let you know if Google contacts me.

btw it looks as if Google has registered the phrase "Google pixel" and not just the word pixel.

Have a look to see who has registered GooglePixel.com. - it doesn't look like Google.

I don't know why you keep fighting this; everyone here is only trying to help you succeed. If you shut us out, and continue registering these types of names, you're not going to make it.

PixelAdvice.com's creation date is October 6th, 2016, or, today. The grace period to delete .com names and get a refund is 3 days. How you do that at OnlineNIC is beyond me as I'm not a customer there, but I believe it would involve contacting customer support. The sooner you do that, the sooner you have your money back, and the sooner you can make a better purchase that will actually yield results. This name won't get you anywhere, but surely you can pick up another at the same price that has better odds. And looking at your impulsiveness, I'd take some time to choose more wisely next time.

Good luck with whatever route you take.

Exactly, that's what I mean to say.

It's only $9, so I'll see what happens. Thanks for your concern though.
