Google the only choice for parking in the near future?

Yahoo is cutting 1,400 + Jobs ; earnings dip 64%

That means Google is growing, based on their reported quarterly earnings the other day, and Yahoo is still crumbling, based on this latest quarterly report.

It appears to me that the writing has been on the wall for a long time. Yahoo is imploding and Google is squeezing our earnings.

I see no alternative other than development or mass domain sales/ expriations coming down the pipeline for domainers.....unless some new platform or real competitor enters the market to save the day. And, it's not looking good.

I guess WhyPark and the other mini-site platforms will be in a good position. :) Until, Google squeezes Adsense payouts to death also. :(

The old saying, "you got to own the customer list if you want to make the money", rings true even in this business........ if you want to be in control. Otherwise another party can pull the rug out from underneath you.

I have been posting some negative stuff lately...... and I hate that......but this industry is starting to look like it is coming apart. Some might say it's the economy, but I think most of really know better deep down.

I don't see anying based on PPC as a good alternative to parking, it is basically the same thing except that it is even more reliant on Google (for traffic plus their is no big middle man who has negotiating clout). Regarding Yahoo, their earnings are falling but revenue was steady. Google is increasing market share no doubt, but I think Yahoo or whoever buys the out will be around long term.

About the best thing I have seen lately is domain leasing, though it only works for limited numbers of mid-high quality keyword generics I think at the moment.
