.mobi Google Search and Mobi ... Clues About Defaulting

as i am obsessed with browser defaulting, i found this page very interesting, i wonder if this is going to stick as a model for other mobile search engines ?

google is making a distinction before you search, allowing you to choose "web" , "images" or "mobile web" from their mobile search page

i am okay with this setup, it lets mobi earn it's keep, if it works well enough people will start to check "mobile web" first

but, there are still a lot of heavyweights weigh in on this issue

no, but it will only search for mobile designed sites and urls, and since all .mobi are supposedly mobile designed, they show up well

name, would this mean sites that are like wap encoded with wap headers etc
