google has their keyword tool for their search engine which tells us how many searches keywords get but that's restricted for Google only

do Bing and Yahoo offer similar programs?

Yahoo's keyword tool is Overture, but I'm not sure if it still works. I don't now if MSN ever had one.

You can use wordtracker

Free Keyword Suggestion Tool From Wordtracker

To be honest though, estibot seems to give the best idea of what to expect in terms of searches.

Free Domain Appraisal, Domain Valuation and Keyword Research Tool

I trust estibot more than any other tools in my toolbox. B-) At least for the search numbers and other info. As far as appraisals, it is not bad for an automated service, but that is not what I use it for.

i believe that they might have similar features if you're an advertiser with them.

You got both Overture and Wordtracker (sometimes doesn't work, probably if they don't have enough running proxies) here:

Free Keyword Suggestion Tool (Wordtracker Suggestion Tool & Overture Bid Tool Combined) & Keyword Generator

But I really prefer Wordtracker as it has stats for singular and plural. Makes difference, singular isn't always best. For example cell phones got more searches then cell phone.
Also Yahoo is more US based so you got differenet peoples mentality stats then average of whole world so it might be contraproductive for some keywords and countries. :)
