One word, terrible (Godaddy's Appraisals). ;)

A NP member bought some Godaddy Appraisals as an experiment. I think they run all their "Express" appraisals through a computer. http://domainaftermarket.godaddy.co....aspx?a=78e68e98-51d6-43a4-8a05-ab4be71de0f9&

They appraised
ZXVQZXVQZXVQZXVQZXVQZXVQZXVQZXVQZXVQZXVQZXVQZXVQZXVQZXVQZXVQZXV.COM
worth $48.00 - $134.00.

Sorry.

As far as automated appraisals go, you can try some of the better ones here but please take any automated appraisal, in fact any appraisal with a little skeptism.

http://estibot.com/
http://domaintops.com/

You can also post in the Appraisals section of NamePros so other people can give you comments about your domain name. Unquestionably the best thing to do is learn for yourself what determines a domain's value (registered in other TLDs or not, Overture scores, search results, etc. etc.).

Did the namepros member mention it was automated? I specifically said certified appraisal service. We all know the $5 one is cr*p.

I am a former Godaddy employee and even the "Certified" service is run similar. In this case a Godaddy employee will run the domain name through their matrix and review it. They can adjust the price based on that. But the truth is that there appraisals are pretty terrible.

I can honestly say you stand almost no chance of selling for that amount, I would be impressed if you recouped your registration fees.

If you want tn automated appraisal, I recommend Estibot, although its not even close to perfect, its the best one out there.

Just for the heck of it, I've ordered GD's certified appraisal service for iPro.biz - their express appraisal estimated a value of up to 1'900 USD. Let's see which numbers they hit when they slap on the keypad:)

Just for the heck of it, I'm going to order sedo's appraisal service so one of these admins on the site will let me sell it in the high-value section. We all know Godaddy's express appraisal sucks by the way, and that's why I ordered the certified one (which, appearently, is not enough evidence to support that my domain is worth $1000 or above).

I have put it on TDNAM for with a sales price in the amount of $1,100. I'm very curious if there will be any offers.
Cheers!

There wont be.

I see - is that due to TDNAM or because the domain is overpriced?

Thanks!

Thank god I found this forum - otherwise I would have made Mr. Parsons even richer. Another lesson learned!

Both. TDNAM is not the idea end-user market place. And yes, the domain is overpriced. I personally wouldnt buy that domain for registration fee.

I see, I'll try SEDO for a change. It's interesting to finally get some feedback from a real person rather than from GD's appraisal e-mails:)

Any paid appraisal service is a waste of $... with a few exceptions, like if you need an IRS accepted appraisal for a donation for tax purposes, you could get a moniker appraisal.
P.M. me any name and send me $10 and I'll gladly give you a proper, realistic appraisal for reseller value and/or end user value. I think nearly any experienced member of this forum would do that.
Beyond that, estibot.com seems to be the best automated appraisal I have tested.

Yes, Estibot definitely delivers more accurate compared to Leapfish:) But in the end it's all just software generated. It also has a bit to do with luck, just like we have seen with 1-2-3.tv for example.

Thanks for your appraisal offer. I'll probably will get back to you sometime soon.

I just recieved a call from a website that only buys high-value domains (buydomains.com) and am tying to call them back. So obviously, it's caught somebody's attention :D The main reason I think somebody would want to get a certified appraisal from a company like sedo or godaddy, is because it gives you a higher chance of selling on their site. I certainly would like to have a mod/senior member appraise domains of mine for only $10, but you can't offer me a "Certified Seal of Approval" like godaddy can (lol).

I used the go daddy certified appraisal for CLICKVIEWS.COM. Got back $560-$1450.
Seems low to me - what do you think?

Well, estibot says $400 and that is usally inflated on the price. I'd say the appraisal godaddy gave you sounds pretty accurate, maybe a bit more if you ask me; considering you have 0 backlinks, alexa rank, ppc score, and title.
