We are having one of our worst support experiences with GoDaddy involving seven domains under a Reseller API account.

We transferred the renewal funds on time, but GoDaddy delayed applying them and later added the money as “Good as Gold” funds, which we could not use to renew through the reseller system.
We repeatedly attempted renewal through WHMCS/API, but keep getting failed response.

The domains are 4 letter domain name and have been renewed or extended by GoDaddy at the registry level immediately after expiry and are still being held by GoDaddy. Even more concerning, GoDaddy sent marketing emails inviting people to buy one of the affected domains while we were actively requesting its restoration.

We have spent many hours on calls, emails and chats. There are now three escalation cases, including one reportedly with the Office of the CEO. Two domains were eventually renewed, proving that GoDaddy can resolve the issue, but seven remain outstanding.

GoDaddy is now barely responding to our emails. When we call, we are only told to wait for Office of the CEO approval.

Has anyone experienced something similar? What is the most effective way to reach someone at GoDaddy who has the authority to restore these domains?

Please be aware that there are members here who believe the onus is on you to properly maintain your site.

Please give this fact the serious consideration it deserves.

GoDaddy's site template uses a {{root_domain}} placeholder variable that is intended to be dynamically replaced with the appropriate GoDaddy domain (e.g., "godaddy.com" or a regional GoDaddy ccTLD such as "godaddy.co.uk").

In certain cases, this variable fails to populate correctly in the browser. When this happens, menu links are generated using the literal, unresolved string {{root_domain}} instead of an actual domain, resulting in broken links.

Clicking these links produces a "This site can't be reached" (DNS_PROBE_FINISHED_NXDOMAIN) error, since {{root_domain}} is not a real, resolvable domain.

This is misleading, since the underlying website itself is fully operational. The failure is purely due to GoDaddy serving malformed/unresolved links, not an actual outage. This issue occurs in multiple locations across the site.

@GoDaddy should identify the conditions under which {{root_domain}} fails to populate (browser type, caching, load timing, locale/ccTLD detection logic, etc.). Audit all templates/menus referencing {{root_domain}} to find every affected instance. And add a fallback value or validation check so unresolved variables never render into live links.
