Just out of curiosity I wanted to see what extensions "Godaddy Sucks" unfortunately Godaddy returns the message "Please select a different domain name to search on." That is kinda funny.

it is better than letting us register it and later taking it back from us...

Any terms with Godaddy in it wont let you search them on GD.

And what's gross imho is that they allow other obvious TM searches like Google. They even provide suggestions that are clear TM violations. Negligence imho and one day you're gonna see these registrars get their asses sued.

Absolutely.

Right now you can own a piece of Dish Network for $2,880 if you wish to jump on the big TM ride along with them.

dishnetwork.net 4234 0 Bid $2,880 9D 3H

The fact that GD can cherry pick its own TM for exclusion proves that they could do the same for other MAJOR TM's.

I predict that, in the near future, a major TM holder will take GD to court and WIN on the basis that GD has not taken reasonable care in avoiding TM infringement, and the Plaintiff will use GD's own keyword exclusion tool against the domain registrar.

It isnt Godaddys responsibility to protect anyones TM..other than their own.

They have no legal responsibility .. If that were the case you would not be able to register anything because almost everyword and phrase has a TM somewhere in the world

One of my favorites is the word "Anchor' So do you have aright to register the word Anchor or not ? Based on most of the comments here absolutely not as Anchor is clearly a TM many times over http://tess2.uspto.gov/bin/showfield?f=toc&state=rk7g5h.1.1&p_search=searchss&p_L=50&BackReference=&p_plural=yes&p_s_PARA1=live&p_tagrepl~:=PARA1$LD&expr=PARA1+AND+PARA2&p_s_PARA2=anchor&p_tagrepl~:=PARA2$COMB&p_op_ALL=AND&a_default=search&a_search=Submit+Query&a_search=Submit+Query

It's YOUR responsibilty to protect your TM..not anyone elses

And I predict Go Daddy can use the Lockheed Martin and Size Inc v NSI cases
to their advantage, too. The original NSI was sued for contributory trademark
infringement...and they won both.

Next?

That's one disgruntled customer! D-:

$1,000 isn't worth the headache I'd get from GoDaddy's lawyers if I bought all those names from this guy

everyone's disgruntled nowadays and it's usually blame to companies just doing their routinary job.

i bet if you go to different registrar you will have different sets of problems and headaches to take care of, i've been with netsol before my very first registrar (actually my second, since my first is my isp, but technically they're not a registrar) now with godaddy, everything they does has a reason to protect their image and their reputation online, having a million++ customers gave them headaches as well but kudos to them for they really make a point to attend and act on your trouble tickets within 6 hours for me that's max, and knowledgeable customer support as well. i've been with them thru good times and bad times, i've been with them even before they're banning a whole country, the Philippines and all i can get from their customer support is "use a web proxy" but they have been far from it and look at the improvements.

as they say "you can't please them all" im speaking of behalf of online business owners out there as well. consumers, beware don't blame it all on the company do some research, why the individual is disgruntled, or just because one customer got irritated because his/her weird requests can't be accommodated by the registrar and individual goes a muck online and spreads bad report and gossip about the registrar, been there done that on the side of the company.

He doesnt own those domains, GD does and redirect them to their site. You didnt click on any of them? He is trying to sell them this .me one to, all I can see happening to him is some legal trouble.
