GoDaddy Premium Listings vs. GoDaddy Auctions - domain sales exposure

We recently took a look at the difference in exposure of a premium listing on GoDaddy vs. a GoDaddy auctions listing. There were 4 different scenarios we tested and we posted the findings here.

I admit I was surprised at how little GoDaddy Auctions listings show on search. Unless you are searching the exact name AND TLD, your Auctions listing won't show on a search. Maybe over time they'll realize they're possibly leaving money on the table doing that and will integrate it more with their search, but it does at least show the power of having your domains at GoDaddy and adding premium listings to them.

Also, it was interesting to see how "comcentric" the exposure for both was when you consider com is the default extension on searches. The vast majority of our premium listing sales have been .com and I can now understand why given the difference in matching TLD vs. non-matching in the searches.

What have you all experienced in different sales volume between the two and extension breakdown?

Good article. Wasn't aware they treated non .com domains differently.

Maybe useful to get an update here after the launch of all the nGTLD's.
