Hello,

New member, old domainer here. In the past several weeks back to a month and half ago Godaddy has made some major UI changes. I also couldn't even access Godaddy auctions from several devices/browsers about 2 weeks ago.

If you search any (premium) domain through the Godaddy registration path using a private or incognito window, also my phone (iOS Safari non private window) and click buy now or lease to own you will be met with a variety of errors.

If you directly search the exact match domain and click on buy now it will get stuck on "Adding to cart" and never add it to the cart.

If you search and click on buy now in the horizontal list below you will get an error in red that says "Domain Taken" and then it will say next to it "This domain isn't available", then the lease to own button when you click that it will bring up a popup and when you try to add that to the cart nothing will happen.

On my phone on iOS without being in a private tab when I click buy now it just refreshes the whole page.

Go try for yourself on various browsers, private windows, your phone etc and search random phrases and look for any premium domain and try to add it to the cart and you will find the various issues.

Godaddy has a priority for only making their website accessible on only the latest browser versions, when you do that, things like this happen. Your visitors are coming in from hundreds of browser versions and operating systems and you cater to those people or things like this happen. If anyone has a connection to the Godaddy team that can resolve this issue please forward it to them so we can get this resolved for all of us.

I have noticed some UI glitches recently as well. Hopefully the GoDaddy team looks into it soon, since issues like this can definitely affect conversions. You may want to try clearing your browser cache, disabling extensions, or testing in another browser/device. Sometimes DNS cache or cookies can also cause these kinds of issues. Hopefully the GoDaddy team looks into it as well, since problems like this can affect conversions.

Thanks for your reply. My background is actually as a web developer for the past 20 years. I should have mentioned that at the time I only tested it on my own personal devices but I have also now tested it using third party devices, browsers and OS. I sell hundreds of domains yearly, one sale every 2 days on average, I am now at 0 sales in 3 weeks. As soon as the UI change happened, 0 sales. I was hoping that others would test, this post would gain some traction and then someone would be able to get in contact with necessary contacts at Godaddy. The newer the browser version is, there are no problems, if its a slightly older browser version there is a problem. However, there is something else coming into play where the problems seem completely random and in those instances where I used 3rd party testing tools which do not store DNS cache or cookies there is a randomness to the issue that is something broken within their system. I did message my Afternic broker about the issue and the day after, many of the issues seemed to be fixed, when I tested further the random issues seemed to occur again.

Thanks for the clarification. If your sales dropped to zero right after the UI change it does suggest something deeper than a browser or cache issue & It could be related to the checkout flow between GoDaddy and Afternic listings breaking intermittently after the recent update. If buyers can’t add premium domains to the cart consistently & it would definitely impact conversions.

Hopefully someone from the GoDaddy team sees this and investigates.
