So it looks like the much maligned GoDaddy logo is finally completely gone.

I can see no trace of it on any GoDaddy site including the auction site, the favicons, and the updated investor app.

It seems to be replaced by a generic "G"

Here is the new favicon

So it looks like GoDaddy is a Daddy no more.

I predict they keep the Go and add something after to show more of a technology company.

GoDomains does not make sense because they offer hosting, auctions, domains, appraisals and probably will eventually have a slew of other services.

Somehow I get a feeling that Go Something is in their future branding strategy.

Maybe even a shortening to GoDad....

I mean it's a guess for now.

PS. Personally I always disliked the godaddy logo and I think its a good thing they are dropping it.

The only thing is...... a black letter G?

How much did they pay to come up with that new logo idea?

They really need to hire some competent site designers, it's all over the place. No flow whatsoever. Somebody with some knowledge of usability in design.

Front page, black text logo on I guess light blue

Hit Templates link, black text logo on white background

Hit My Domains, now it's a white text logo on green background

Besides the bugs, like the login bug. It's really something that should be fixed first time somebody points it out, not linger for months/years.

We probably don't want to know! :xf.cool:

By the way the Favicon for GoValue still shows the old one for me, but maybe that is just cached in my system.

I have not looked into competing TMs, but I think Go as a brand feels positive and sleek.

GoDaddy is still the worst name for a company ever.

Not for Bob Parsons...

If they paid anything it was too much ... now I have two "G's" in my favorites dropdown, the other one being for my Gmail. I don't know why they would use the same logo as Google.

I just clicked on my Firefox GoDaddy tab and the little guy on the tab (the favicon) turned into the black and white G!

The favicon lives on for me.

@Josh R - read your comment so clicked on the same Firefox tab and it changed back to the little guy. They must be testing the new logo out or something...

I think it's just in your browser memory, I use a no cache extension so I always get a fresh page.
It looks like it has rolled out and it will just take a bit of time for everyone's cache to clear.

Unless of course its not rolled out for all countries.

I'd like to be the designer getting paid for that rebranding project lol

With all the money they're spending on ads I'm pretty sure they won't lose their Daddy. Doesn't make sense to me. Losing the Fido Dido lookalike is a good start though.

Sigh .. of all the things to fix on their platform they choose the one thing that really doesn't matter either way! lol

But dropping the orange haired guy? Maybe they're just getting ahead of the 2020 election? lol

I wonder how much they paid a media consulting company to come up with a black/white G? lol

Oh wait .. I just noticed .. did their G always do that arrow thing? (I thought I was the only one who liked arrows? lol)

All that said .. I don't hate it .. never understood the context of the old one .. but I don't really care either way (aside from assuming they'd come up with something a little more memorable given the opportunity to get rid of that old whatever it was) .. I just want good prices (check), good domains at auction that I can grab for cheap (check) and a good usable relatively bug-free platform (uncheck uncheck uncheck x 1000) .. the rest is mostly fluff!

I always hated both their logo and their name. The guy on the logo just looks like some shady scammer and the name doesn't help either.

Also, don't look at your mail when there's people around or they'll think you're subscribed to a porn newsletter.

That would be a good one. They have the funds to pull that off... It it ever gets released that it.

Go.com would be ace. The way Disney is using it doesn't make sense imo but they're probably looking ahead as well so that's never gonna happen.

Next pick for me would be gdn.com. there is some reference in it to how they started out, great tech abbreviation related to the niche, cold and faceless. Perfect match and available for purchase :)

I have to be sympathetic to GD developers. They are working with massive code that is ancient. Lots of headaches. Especially when you are dealing with not just domains, but a whole suite of Web services. They are doing as well as expected. Still long way to go. Hope they keep moving the ball forward. Domain management is most important and their bread-and-butter. Front-end design is secondary to client interface.

Another new logo? Just noticed this when I logged in to transfer out some names:
