Am i missing something here? Is it just me or are these LLLL domains on Godaddy expiring auction outrageously priced? An how are there so many bids?

The LLLLs do not appear to be premium 4-letter domain names but the prices are around market rate. The NNNN is a separate analysis since this is likely a Chinese buyer or a reseller intending to target the Chinese market. One would have to understand the specific number's significance or the value of numerics in general to assess the price properly.

Do you think that those with large four letter and four number portfolios are bidding up these auctions to protect their investments?

The 4L market is narrowing... as predicted.

Daily pending delete 4L list is getting more and more narrow, and competition at registrar auctions has gone up.
