Anybody who's played the expired auctions game at Godaddy, has probably had at one time or another, the unfortunate luck of having the original registrant renew the domain at the very last minute. Just a few days ago, I had 3 domains pulled back.

It's a very frustrating hassle and I wish Godaddy would not auction domains while the Registrant has so much time to renew the domain.

Either way, not a huge deal on smaller transactions. But what about larger transactions. I've never purchased domains from expired Godaddy auctions for thousands of dollars, but one would assume that payment would be via wire transfer.

Seems like a huge waste of time/money to go through all of that for larger transactions that may or may not go through. Just wondering if anyone has went through this (larger transactions) and what your experiences were with it?

Thanks!

Bump!

I actually had 5 domains pulled back instead of only 3. Can't imagine going through this mess everyday if I purchased more domains through this platform.

I don't drop a lot of domains probably around 50ish since 2003. Anything I've dropped at GoDaddy I've set to my auction watch list. If nothing happens on it or low activity I let it expire if it gains major auction activity I'll pay the redemption fee. Not what ya wanna hear but I think a good way to filter your drops to see what the rest of the world thinks about them as it eliminates dropping anything that would achieve high numbers at their auction. Generally doesn't happen as I've been doing this long enough to know that if I drop something it will probably not see any activity but in the case of a oddball think adding your drops to their watch list is a smart second opinion.
