Important Note
Please note that this thread is only for information that directly leads to discounts at GoDaddy.

If you have been banned from GoDaddy as a result of alleged promo code abuse, please use this thread.

I saw today at the top of the NP page there was a little box showing a Sponsor advert, clicked on it and got a com for $2.95 from the UK
http://www.godaddy.com/domains/search-dus.aspx?isc=iap295j1

tried to use linux295 ...........same old crap from godaddy, you either do or you dont ???

Unfortunately, we are unable to process your purchase using this form of payment. Please utilize another form of payment, or contact (480) 505-8855 for further assistance.

Please click hereto go back and confirm that your information is correct.

Yes and with this one if you ring them up it still does not work.

This is what I don't really like - if an offer isn't available to you they should tell you sooner, not after you click buy. This way if you don't go through with the purchase they are also collecting data about domains people actually want to buy, even if only at cheap prices.

Some codes when you put then in the code box they just do not work - you find out right away.

Well i sent them an email asking why some codes don't work in certain countries ....what are my chances of an honest answer? i happily let them know these tactics are being discussed on the forums

I ised thos code:

linux295 - Worked fine here in Australia for me.

I note Godaddy went to au.godaddy.com.

I changed currency to USD. (Not sure why Godaddy charge more for AUD when it is worth more than the USD!)

even though some codes might be geo-restricted , I think some codes might be just promotion-restricted

meaning that ... they issue multiple different similarly-looking codes for a single promotion (/promotion-budget) ... once someone uses one of the interconnected coupons it blocks all the other coupons of the same promotion

I think this is the case for example with all those gof- coupons ... because I think I did use one successfully back in the day (Greece) but no other gof- coupon works after that (and going to the "unable to process" message instead of "invalid/expired coupon")

of course , there also might be some other explanation to all this ... also there might be promotions with exceptions (ie. allowing a certain number of different similarly-looking coupons of the same promotion to be applied by the same person)

however , clicking "buy" and getting the "unable to process" message (while it could very easily just show as an invalid coupon) is "tedious" ... especially since the problem does not appear to be the payment method

the promotion could be connected to the credit card used and not the account (which again is not very logical) ... has anyone used a different credit card (/different-payment-method) with a similar-looking code after getting the "unable to process" message ?

Absolutely right about the codes. If we have used any one of gof coupon, the rest interconnected stops working.

Secondly, I have tried using different cards but the problem remained same. Always receive "unable to receive" message just because of geo-restriction.

actually, this really isnt that big of a deal cause if you just call godaddy and notify them of this message, they will push your order through.

i know for some in other countries have to worry about international calling..etc... but just pointing this out.

Also... part of the reason for geo restricted codes is for conversion tracking. This doesn't make big daddy biased against any one or thing or country - just another part of online marketing.

I tried calling them for this once, they said the code was either expired or not applicable to my country. The order wasn't pushed through.

I think Go daddy permanently raise the price of .NET renewal to 8.67$

Not even a single renewal coupon code works for me in bringing the renewal price of .NET to 7.67$

Can anybody confirm this?

Competition::
Namesilo - 7.49$
InternetBS - 7.99$

I have found only two codes still working that bring the price down to 7.99 + Icann fee. Just used one of them. The quandary is, if I share them in the thread, will Godaddy simply disable them as well? PM me if you really need them for a renewal. :-/

having a degree in economics , I know about market segmentation (whether justified or not)

I was just wondering whether it is only geo-related or also promo-related (since I remember using a gof- coupon once even though I am in Greece)

regardless of the above , being used to a very good service from GoDaddy through all these years , I think it serves for a better customer experience if all "issues" with an order are "resolved" before clicking "buy"

lol you know what else is a little "strange" ? the 4 digit verification page that sometimes pops up after clicking "buy"

so ... I logged-in typing my supersecure 55-letter password with 10 lowercase letters , 10 uppercase ones , 15 numbers + 15 characters sprinkled in-between plus Mel Brooks' secret luggage combination * ... I then typed a domain ... clicked through all the promotions ... (cc is on file and automatic buyer profile for contacts , phew) ... then two agree-on-terms ticks ... and finally "buy" ....... and still the people that made GoDaddy checkout think I might be a bot ??? lol

still , not complaining , I like GoDaddy

* go to 6:17 for Mel Brooks' secret luggage combination

I would imagine calling godaddy from Australia would cost more than the full cost of the domain especially as there very likely would also be a holding time until someone becomes free to answer. Anyway, why should we go to the trouble of contacting them? We are the customer, godaddy should be providing customer satisfaction no matter where we reside or what their marketing strategies are. The following reply from godaddy is just pure crap. If the promotional code is not eligible why was it advertised on their site? Just a wishy washy mean nothing response.

Thank you for contacting Online Support. I'm sorrу fоr thе incоnvenience. It арpears that the promotional code you are trying to use is not eligible at this time. Most codes have various restrictions, so I would suggest reviewing the email or marketing notice to determine the code's eligibility. We appreciate your understanding in the matter.
