My guess is that they'd refund the Personal Email + the difference in what the domain would 'normally' cost... the default is what $10.69? It might backfire actually.

Hi everyone,

If we renew .com domain with let's say coupon code "tvspecial" so it makes $7.47 and if you add Personal Email (1 GB Total/1 Box) of $10.99 it makes the total $13.16 and the domain price for just $2.17

What if we make the payment of $13.16 and than ask for refund of $10.99 will Godaddy pay back the $10.99 refund? If they do so than we will be able to renew the domain for just $2.17

In effect you are commiting fraud by paying for something with no intention of keeping it just to get something else. It is sneaky and unethical. Just because it works doesn't make it right. I have been just as guilty of looking for loopholes as the next guy so I have little room to judge--I just wouldn't advertise my intentions on a public board. Just a thought.

FYI, GoDaddy reads these posts so you might also be shutting a window that was there.

Probably Not A Good Idea

I agree - dont try it. Its not worth it. The discounts are there, I just registered a dot com for $6.99 + FEE = $7.17 The other week I was able to register a dot com for $2.99 and $4.99 but those codes seem to have expired. Sit tight and wait for the deeper discount code OR you cant go wrong with $7.17 right now.

I see that someone else said it might be fraud. All in all its really not a good idea to do that.

What I cant wait for are the sub $5 renewal codes! I'd renew a significant chunk of my portfolio at a sub-$5 price!
