I have regged domains at NetSol for $2.95 and after 60 days have transferred to Godaddy for $4.95 successfully, within 4 days.

Definitely transfer ASAP after the 60-day lock.

They make it difficult, though, so be prepared for a hassle.

I would never handreg (at any cost) a domain at NetSol.

I actually took the offer. Should I be worried? There seems to be a lot of dissatisfaction with NetSol going round. What exactly is the issue?

And why should we attempt to transfer out after the 60 days and not after the full year?

Because you might forget your domain expiry date, and you will be charged with the renewal price of 35 dollars.

Most people have poor memories, that is why Registrars are still profiting from this tactic.

To save yourself from this trouble, transfer your domain as soon as the lock has been lifted after 60 days.

Thanks just regged one.

Not sure what the fuzz is about - never had a issue with netsol when transferring out or any issue with them, those worried about costs at renewal just turn off auto renewal!! and move the domain closer to expiry.

That is exactly what to do!
I do that with all registrars, shut off auto renewal.

They do send you an email when it is due for renewal, so you can go from there.

Just a quick heads up - since regging a new domain yesterday ... I've had network solutions sales team call me twice yesterday and three times today.

Today I answered the call and did the worst Indian accent ever - the guy nearly pissed him laughing lol
