Hi Fewski,

Assuming that the link you removed does actually go to their site then it is legit, I've not actually bought of sold a domain through their service so can't really comment on how efficient they are.

All the best.

Looks legit then, I assume that you have replaced your actual domain name with MYDOMAIN.COM :) Otherwise I think I few people would be interested in offering you more here :)

All the best.

yes, the domain name "mydomain.com" is worth way more than $100!

Do a google search with that link, web address, see if anyone else has posted somewhere about it.

Fewski,

I have sold some names through the Network Solutions certified offer service so the email is legit. The strange part is that they only offered you $100 when it costs them $19 to make the offer. If they really had such a low budget, wouldn't they want to save that $19 and contact you directly?

Also, for those who are wondering, I am sure he is not really selling MYDOMAIN.COM as it belongs to another big company. In the email, he used ALL CAPS to show where information was removed or replaced.

Thanks for the reply all. Did everything they asked just waiting for a reply back.

And yes, the domain is not "MYDOMAIN.COM". :hehe:

Re: Transfer of the following domain names

Domain Name Current Registrar

RACINGEAST.COM GO DADDY SOFTWARE, INC.

Network Solutions, LLC has received a request from Matt Larmore on June 21, 2006 10:56:12 AM EDT for us to become the new registrar of record. You have received this message because you are listed as the Registered Name Holder or Administrative contact for this domain name in the WHOIS database. Please read the following important information about transferring your domain name:

You must agree to enter into a new Registration Agreement with us. You can review the full terms and conditions of the Agreement at http://goto.networksolutions.com/service-agreement.
Once you have entered into the Agreement, the transfer will take place within five (5) calendar days unless the current registrar of record denies the request.
Once a transfer takes place, you will not be able to transfer to another registrar for 60 days, apart from a transfer back to the original registrar, in cases where both registrars so agree or where a decision in the dispute resolution process so directs.

If you WISH TO PROCEED with the transfer, you must respond to this message. Please go to our secure website LINK WAS HERE to confirm. If you do not respond by July 6, 2006 3:56:16 PM EDT, the domain names listed above will not be transferred to us.

If you DO NOT WANT the transfer to proceed, then don't respond to this message. If you have any questions about this process, please contact Customer Service at [email protected].

Sincerely,

Network Solutions Customer Support

Everything still look okay to all of you? I just don't want to lose the domain, I already lost $50 to the appraisal scam.

Thanks for your opinions. :)

You can always email their support and have them confirm if you are feeling uneasy about the situation.

They're legit. Just remember, if you don't want to transfer, then do nothing with Netsol. You have to go to their provided link in order for a domain transfer to go through.

I got an offer through their buying sevice a few months ago. I dont' remember the exact details, but I think the offer was about $350 for a domain I had listed on my site for about $200. Just for the heck of it, I countered with $850 and they accepted it. Sale went through without a hitch. I did carefully check all urls though to make sure it wasn't a scam.

Goes to show that a lot of NSI customers probably don't even check the whois or visit the live site. I would have accepted 1/4 of what I actually got.

I have sold one domain through the NS "certified offer" process, and will never do it again. I got their check 3 month after the sale.

I sold one just a few months ago and was worried about that. However, I got paid within a week.

Looks pretty legitamite, Good luck!

It's legitimate since it's being done through netsol's certified offer service. The
catch with your case is the domain name has to be moved to them.

From their Service Agreement:

http://www.networksolutions.com/legal/static-service-agreement.jsp#cos

Through the COS, you are applying to transfer and register the Domain Name to the Buyer with Network Solutions as the sponsoring registrar. Any successful transfer and subsequent registration of the Domain Name to the Buyer is governed by the terms and conditions of this Agreement (which includes the General Terms and Conditions and the Schedules applicable to domain name registrations and registrant name changes).

So make sure your contact details are updated with your current registrar to
ensure the check gets to you. Good luck, Matt/Fewski!

Just an update if anyone else gets an offer like this... I got the check today in the mail! Couldn't be happier with the speed of the proccess, much faster than Sedo!

Thanks to everyone who put in comments and advice. :)

Sedo usually sends payment to my paypal account with a week of closing a sale, sometimes only a couple days. It's much quicker than waiting for a check from them, which I think they cut once or twice a month.

I meant the speed of the transaction, from the point they contacted me to when the domain was transfered to them went pretty fast. Waiting for the check took about 10 days, but I wasn't in a hurry... Actually forgot about it until I received it today. :hehe:
